You contact them and dont really expect much, other then let them know you were disappointed (like first, go home with wax still on brows😞 and feel like they didn't get what you were saying about the cut, even tho you had pics, etc) but another stylist offers to have you come in again, no charge, look at your cut and help offer tips on styling etc....
You would at least tip her, right?

I always tip the amount the full service would cost, whether it is a comp or groupon or whatever, so I would also do that in this case.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

It depends if the stylist is actually the owner of the salon. Owner - no tip; regular stylist = tip.

I'd tip - more if it was another stylist who gave up her time than the owner, but would do so even if it was the owner.

I'd tip - more if it was another stylist who gave up her time than the owner, but would do so even if it was the owner. In the USA it is custom to not tip the owner of a hair salon. I don't know how it is in the U.K.

I don't know how it is in the U.K. I kind of based my answer on all the other bits about tips on styling etc. I'd give the owner a couple of £ if she personally looked after me and gave me some direction and put things right. That's just me, though. As I said, I'd give another stylist more.

BFF stylist says this: If the stylist who messed it up is the one fixing it, no. If someone else is fixing it for free and spending her own time doing it and not getting compensated, yeah it would be a good idea to tip And barring a great error, I tip whether it's the owner or not, as that "rule" had never made sense to me.

Thanks. I did tip the other stylised, she tweaked a few layers and gave me lots of tips on styling it. And gave me a good price on high lights so I'll get those done Monday
