over the years, i have had every storage system imaginable, but sold them all when i 'stopped' scrapping 4 years ago. now that i am back into it, i need storage. i am looking at the clipitup system which i had, and loved, and the scrap rack--also had and used. I can't decide. i have a dedicated scrap room, so space is not an issue. i remember putting each thing back in its little pocket thingie was a pain, and i remember with the clip it up that it ddn't hold as much as i wante.d
i found a custom clip it up on ebay that is like 5 feet tall--gorgeous!! but 150 bucks plus 50 shipping!! Phew. I would be worried i wouldn't like it, kwim?
Does anyone use the scrap rack now? pros and cons?

Do you have wall space you can use for clip and bag hanging storage? You could just make your own from wire closet racks, and probably incorporate some shelving too. Lots of storage possibilities, but on the down side, it might not look so glamorous. It's a wall of bags, after all. Same with that 5 foot rack.
The nice thing about the clip it up is that everything is all in one place and it doesn't take up as much visual space in your room. The down side of that is that you spend a lot of time turning pages trying to find what you're looking for. But another up side is that you're reminded of the stuff you'd forgotten about.
I'm no help. Are you concerned at all about keeping your supplies out of sight when you're not using them?

Thanks! last night, i found this blog where a woman made a clip it up with a shoe rack! i thought it was kind of ingenious and now I'm considering that. The problem i have with the scrap rack is all. the. plastic. I remember turning the pages, turning the pages to find what i was looking for, and mine was filled up and it was a pain to flip through all those pages. I like the idea of a clip it up on the wall--the long curtain rod with hooks, too. I dont care about the visual. My only problem is that i like things to be within arms reach of me when i scrap--not EVERYTHING, but the items i use frequently like alphas and embellies. For example, punches and stamps and nuvo drops can be on a shelf, because i use them less often. and the only place i could put up the curtain rod is on the wall behind my table. so i'd have to get up and walk over there (oh, the horror!!) but seriously--i think i need to consider how i scrap, and that would just annoy the heck out of me. The shoe rack spinner i could put right next to my desk so i could reach everything.... I am going to explore the idea of the shoe rack clip it up. Here's a link. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/41/53/aa/4153aa52f8a2a700adb61d8ad61acb52.jpg

That system isn't for me and that's ok.
I have most of my embellishments stored in my Raskog cart and just wheel it over to my desk when I need to.

I do not like the clip it up and scrap rack systems. But if you like it the price seems reasonable.

If you have room for a cart by your desk too, I think it's really handy. ETA, figured it out! Amazon link. Smart thinking, and much more affordable. Before you put it together, you could add some round shelves cut from plywood or foamboard, and maybe covered with a pretty fabric. And the hooks for your curtain clips are built in. What a great solution!

I bought a shoe tree at a yard sale and made mine. I put the, I think, 10 inch clear plastic flower pot saucers from the garden department at Walmart in the middle to put other things. I wound up getting the ones that were about 3 or 4 inches tall and put stuff like spools of twine and things like that in the middle. I just cut a hole in the middle and slide over the pole.
I use the last of the Renee Clip it ups that I could find and now buy the Darice Jewelry Designer Dangler Clips. They are almost identical, just have a slightly longer hook and is twisted the other way. You can twist to face any direction. I have also used the name tag clips also. You can get a package of about 10 name tag clips at Walmart and office supplies. I've found the dangler clips at Joanns.com and Walmart.com, I've bought from both.

I LOVE my ScrapRack. I just bought another whole set using a coupon at JoAnn to expand mine to double capacity. I really like the idea of organizing by theme and color, and it lets me see everything together. So I can have buttons, chipboard, stickers, ribbon all together and easy to see. I can also file special paper in the proper category. If anyone wants to know more, watch the Totally Tiffany videos on YouTube. She does a Get Organize Challenge every year.
The biggest issue is having a place to keep it. I have it on an Ikea 2 X 4 shelf unit and it is perfect- holds a double ScrapRack solidly at the right height. I find being able to SEE what I have is much better than having things boxed away in neat tidy containers or baskets. Of course it will not make your scrap room look like something out of "House Beautiful", but the point for me is to be able to see and USE my products.
I just went to a crop and I was able to pop off the appropriate "spiders" and bring those sections with me.

I have the six foot clip it up with six spinners. It holds a ton. It is really easy to find and nothing gets crushed.

The Clip It Up and Scrap Rack are not the way I store and use my products, so I wouldn't re-buy. BUT if you used them and liked them before and they worked with how you scrap, then you should get them. I would check Ebay, Craigslist or if you have a LSS that has a craft flea market wait and check there before buying new.

Scrap-rack and clip-it-up aren't for me. The best, and most organized way for me, to store mine are in sterilite drawers. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, etc. I also do a few categories like Christmas, birthdays, pets, etc. If I need more than one drawer for a category I have that option. When I work on a page or project I just pull out the drawer. Works for me. Best of luck in your search.

I have a clip it up standing in my desk and like being able to see most of my embellishments in that way.

It's funny how some things work for others and some done't. I had a clip it up. I found I did not like it at all. Too much wasted space, I think.
I do like them, but not for me.
