I searched and didn't find anything, has anyone made plans for Easter yet? I always serve a ham, but I found out this year that my adult children don't really like ham! Why did someone never say anything?!?! All my kids prefer turkey unbeknownst to me (how does that even happen?), but my DH prefers ham. I usually have something spring-like, such as asparagus and maybe scalloped potatoes. I'm really interested in hearing what sides and desserts you serve, please share any recipes that may be relevant! I would also love to hear your Easter traditions!

We always have ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green jello with pears and some sort of bread.
Dh and I aren't huge on the ham either, but my mom makes it and we eat it. I figure it is once a year.
I know some people do rack of lamb, but I've never had it

We (nearly) always do a lamb roast. Potatoes, mint sauce and gravy are mandatory sides, others vary depending on mood. I might do asparagus this year, as it is just coming into season here. We're not really dessert people, and it hardly seems worth it for just DH and I. I will probably get an Easter Lamb cake.

Our Easter menu is pretty traditional, I think. Baked ham, potatoes au gratin, roasted asparagus, baked beans, fruit salad, deviled eggs, dinner rolls, and lemon meringue pie for dessert.

Easter dinner isn't really a thing here like I think you are describing - similar to a formal dinner like Christmas etc?
I've never had this sort of thing in my family or extended family and friends. Easter is a 4 day break in Australia so many people go camping to make the most of the lovely Autumn weather(still very warm mostly) or have casual bbq's.
At this stage we have no plans. My daughter will be home from university so we will hang out and maybe do something nice but it will probably be sitting outside and very relaxed.

Leg of lamb is always the star of the meal. Sides vary from year to year. I know I'm doing an asparagus tart, but not sure what else. Oh, I do always do deviled eggs mostly because I have a really cute Easter deviled egg plate! Lol.

We have tickets to see a show in Charlotte... which is 2 hours away we might go down the night before and then go to brunch before the show.
Whatever we do I'm not cooking.
My favorite Easter meal is leg of lamb. With asparagus, roast potatoes and gravy.

lamb roast here also - but beyond that I haven't thought about it - we don't have a traditional, the same every year, menu - there will be 3 vegetables side dishes and fruit salad and probably roast potatoes

Since DS has to go to school the Monday after, dh and I are driving there on Saturday and staying thru Monday morning. While we are there, we are going to start packing up things he doesn't need for the last 2 weeks of school and bringing it home with us. I really do need to figure out what is open up there and make a reservation!

I think leg of lamb on the wood pellet grill this year. And I made an awesome lemon risotto in the Instant Pot recently, so I'll probably make that again. Maybe asparagus? And an Instant Pot cheesecake, made the night before.

Yup, ham and homemade perogies. Always perogies with ham. Cabbage rolls. Carrots with dill and cream sauce. A salad of some sort. We don't have a traditional Easter dessert. We're often gone on spring break (if it falls with Easter) so we don't have Easter with the family. We go to my Mom's house and MIL's. Until 2 years ago we always would have had Paska bread that my Baba made.

Jealous of the people having pierogi. Ugh, ham. Even if you aren't eating the ham, you can't escape it. The whole house smells like a big ass ham.

We change up what we are having every year. Usually my 2 daughters decide the menu and I follow along. I'm not really that invested in what we eat. Sometimes we have snacks and appetizers, last year I think we had ham, I don't remember. Usually, I'm just told what to bring and I like it that way, no thinking on my part.

And an Instant Pot cheesecake, made the night before. Oh, I always forget about lamb. I never had it growing up, and have still never tried it. Is it similar to any other meat? Is it gamey? Could you share your lemon risotto recipe? I love the idea of pierogies! Again, never made them, but they are delicious. Do you make them with just potatoes? I'm thinking I may pick up a lemon supreme pie from Village Inn. It's like a cross between cheesecake and lemon pie, with two layers. I suck at making pie crust.

Ham for sure, we all love it and it's pretty fool proof. Actually, I like the outside pretty brown. I first cover it with pineapple juice and brown sugar, after stabbing it all over. Deviled eggs are also mandatory.

For those of you who do lamb, DH"s family makes a lamb dish called Spiedies. Grilled chunks of Lamb served on white bread. I got violently ill the first time I was ever served them (turns out Rosemary and I are NOT friends), and as a result don't eat very much when they're served. Recipe as I know the rules

We usually pick up a Honey Baked ham, and then everyone pot lucks the sides, so every year it's different. We have a potato salad with it, a green salad, maybe a pasta salad. We do the big egg hunt at my brother's house since his wife's family joins us and they have little ones still. I'll usually steal some of the kid's eggs and make a quick bowl of egg salad because I love it smeared on Hawaiian rolls.
It's normally not a very formal dinner because we can't all nail down a sit down dinner time, coordinating with church services, and a couple of divorced families too. So we do an all day thing and kinda graze, make sandwiches with the ham, etc.
I always bring carrot cake, and another friend brings Marie Calendar pies.
Gosh, this thread is making me hungry!

we do a group family easter potluck thing with 5 families. in years past, the host provided a spiral cut ham and others bring garlic mashed potatoes (DD's fave), veggies, appetizers, salads and desserts. another family is hosting this year so not sure what they (okay, she...) will do. we will back her up, no matter what she chooses! we do an easter egg hunt - the 20 some-odd kids are now bigger (8 to 16) and each family brings a treat - one for each kid that we put in a little bag. the "big" kids hide the eggs from the "little" kids. the eggs are empty so they don't take each other out... a tweak as they became bigger kids. lol! the funny thing is, each year it's interesting to see each kid "move up" from little to big... we don't have so many littles left. they hand in their bag of empty eggs and and get their loot bag. big kids and little kids receive a loot bag. each family is responsible for a game or activity as well. its fun but really, the food is a big draw. i have surrounded myself with people who can make some really good food!

This is going to sound so weird, but we are all going to the Easter buffet at the casino! All you can eat prime rib and every kind of seafood plus regular Easter foods...ham, turkey, veggies, salads and a huge dessert bar. We won't gamble after, so we will bring the grandkids home with us and the parents can stay for awhile if they want to.

I think that I will be serving Prime Rib with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, salad and cheesecake for dessert.
In Ontario, Good Friday & Easter Sunday are stat holidays. Schools also have Easter Monday off. I will probably have the dinner on Easter Monday as I will have my dgc with me and they can help in the preparations. The newest MasterChef Jr is being an inspiration for learning to cook.
