Patter what size do you have? And did you go with the top level mattress? I think I'm a little worried about the king size and if it will still feel good at that huge size. We have the queen. I wouldn't think the size would make a difference with comfort. We got the Saatva Luxury Firm. It's working great for us.

How's everyone liking their Saatva mattress? I had to exchange the luxury firm because it squeaked. We weren't sure on the firmness so when they did the replacement we got the soft plush. Not liking it at all, I can only sleep in it for about 4 hrs & have to move to the other bedroom. That bed is an old sleep number bed that I hated before. I called Saatva today to have the soft plush returned. Today they say that there is a breaking in period & that they would be sending me a Comfort Level Adjusting Topper. Anyone tried this? I really wanted to love this bed, just isn't working out. Going to try this & see what happens. They said this is really important for those of us that are side sleepers having lower back pain. Is this a line of BS???

Does the topper extend the time you get to return the mattress?

It's personally a great mattress IMO, and I would try the suggestions they are making. Hope you get it worked out.

When my dad moved in to assisted living, I bought him a Saatva luxury firm. He loves it. DS actually fell asleep in his bed when we were visiting one day. It was only a couple of minutes but he woke up and said "oh Mama, this bed is SOOOOO comfortable". LOL. So, even though I was leaning towards a Purple for DS, I will now get him a Saatva.

Our new mattress after the Saatva has felt wonderful from the first night. The Saatva rep tried and tried and then I finally had to get a little firm with them just to come pick it up...end of story. They did and refunded my money. Good luck!

I'm sure they are only trying to help but honestly if you don't like the mattress, having a topper is not going to fix that situation though it may help with your comfort for a while.
Wish I knew the answer, mattress shopping has been very hard for us and we have a mattress now that we don't like too much and can't return it. Still looking for answers!

Has anyone bought the Saatva adjustable base? I'm looking at the Luxury Firm King split mattress for the adjustable split base. This would mean buying the 11.5 inch mattress. Would like to hear comments about this or how this would compare good or bad to the 14.5 inch mattress.
I'm also still trying to feel okay about losing under bed storage as I have my entire floor space under our Cal-King bed packed full.

Okay, I finally did it!! I ordered the Saatva Luxury Firm in a split King configuration with the adjustable bed frame. I can't believe I just ordered a bed online without even feeling it but as it has been discussed here and other threads, even going to the mattress stores and sitting/laying on a mattress for a few minutes just doesn't give you enough information.
The local mattress store (formerly Sleep Train) has a really difficult and stingy sounding return process (it sounded like they would be very difficult to work with if you were unsatisfied and there were large return fees and lots of other limitations).
I'm so excited!!

Thanks Patter. I need to shop for twin xl sheets now. I will probably just buy fitted sheets initially and then when the bed is here experiment with using just one flat sheet and one comforter from my current set for the whole bed and see how that works.
My current bed is almost 15 years old and my quilt and sheet sets were purchased about 10 years ago so I got quite a bit of use out of all of them. The fitted sheets were just starting to tear so I won't have any old Cal-King fitted sheets going to waste.

I'm concerned if this "topper" is them trying to help or a stall tactic. I'm really not sure how a breaking in period with a topper is going to help. Something about being a side sleeper & lower back pain. I'm trusting that they are the mattress experts & I am not. I'll play the game & give it a try. I'm going to give this 2 weeks & evaluate. What about sheets? Hope I have something that will fit I've been playing this game now for a few months...1 last try

micpea - I think it is worth giving it a chance. We don't like our mattress and actually bought a (admittedly cheap) topper just to see if it helped us. Give it a week or two and reevaluate. We were able to use our regular sheets since they had deep pockets but it was tight. SweetieBugs - I can't wait to hear how you like the split king configuration! That will be our next step for sure. Dh is hogging the bed control and I am not able to control my side. I can see that this will be an issue for us lol.. That means another expense - 2 twin xl mattresses! Do they have to be low? The one I have picked out is 14 1/2 inches.

I have suffered with hip and back pain for years. Feels great on this mattress. micpea, sounds like you sleep like I do. I hope the new topper works but the Luxury Firm is what worked for us too. Can I ask why you didn't get another Luxury Firm when the other one squeaked. I think that was just a bad mattress not necessarily a Luxury Firm problem as that's what we have. Just wondering.

Worrywart, to use Saatva's adjustable bed (it's called the Lineal), you have to select the 11.5 inch mattress (the 14.5 mattress is not designed to use with an adjustable base). The base has adjustable legs that will raise the bottom of the frame 6 to 10 additional inches. My current bed is several inches higher than I would like so I've gone 15 years with out being able to sit on the bed to put my shoes on. I'm hoping to adjust this new one to be a few inches shorter.

We went with the plush soft because hubby thought the luxury firm was a bit too firm. I didn't remember anything about it other than the squeak....lol. I'm going to give the topper a try. I'm on the record for not loving my bed. I want to, just don't at this point.

Wow, I just placed my order Friday afternoon and it is already scheduled to be delivered to the main Sacramento warehouse this Friday. From there, it will be interesting to see how long it takes to deliver to my home (they will call me to schedule and I bet my area they only delivery to on certain days or day of the week as I'm out of the city limits--my LazyBoy recliner took 10 days to come from the local delivery to Sacramento). The Saavta guy that called was nice but had a bit of an "intense" "I'll give you the best customer service you've ever had" tone which tends to repel me a bit. Can't wait.

Hi, I just started mattress shopping - overwhelming! I came across this thread when I searched and was wondering how people still liked the Saatva mattress? Or are there any new recommendations or updates? We are side/back sleepers. DH sleeps hot, I don't, but that might change in the next few years I start out the night sleeping on the edge of the mattress so that needs to be sturdy and not roll off. I'm also a very sensitive sleeper and hope I don't feel when DH moves around. Thanks!

We have had a Saatva mattress for over a year. DH loves it, but I don't. It gives me a back ache so I end up sleeping on the couch most of the time. I tried putting a memory foam topper on it that we already had but it didn't help me and DH thought it made the mattress too soft. We probably should have gotten a sleep number bed or something like that where both sides could be adjusted separately.
Good luck!
