I really Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup. Why? It lasts 8-12 hours. It feels like nothing on my face. It covers all of my imperfections (well I do have one age spot that needs a concealer but other than that it's great) and I end up with a beautiful dewy finish. It doesn't settle into my under eye wrinkles. I don't need a primer under it if I apply it with a wet sponge ( I get the cheapy wedge ones from Ulta) I did buy their facial makeup applicator brush but prefer my sponges. And it comes in 24 colors. I'm a fair girl with a pink undertone. Most makeup colors come in a yellow undertone which make me look like death warmed over. That's my problem with the It line of makeup-foundation especially. Their line of colors is too small. The fair is too fair on me, but the next one up is too dark. I could blend them but then again the base is yellow. Why go through all of that when Urban Decay gives me what I want and does it so well? Yes it's expensive at $40.00 but to me it's worth it. You only need a little-1-2 pumps worth and for me a bottle lasts a long time. If you buy at Ulta you can try it and return it if you don't like. I'm not sure about Sephora (I don't normally shop there) but I think they have that policy too. Interesting about the pink undertone - I also have more pink, so I'll have to check it out.

I have the same kind of skin, mid 40s, combination, and some blotchiness I like to tone down. I also live in a hot and humid climate.
I haven't found a good liquid foundation I can use. In cool weather, the Tarte cream foundation in a tube works well. But most of the year I can only use dry foundations. I've tried several, and also various primers and techniques, but it all gets cakey in the end. I currently use the Urban Decay pressed powder foundation and like it best.
It's very silky, doesn't settle into imperfections or look powdery, and has just enough coverage to blend out the blotchiness. And it never cakes up.

I really like IT cosmetics- both the liquid foundation and the foundation in a compact! Ditto!

Y'all...I feel like a makeup cheapy mccheapy when i read these threads. I have tried a ton of different foundations, and over the last 10 years ago have gone to wearing mostly tinted moisturizers or bb creams. My most favorite of all time? The Elf brand bb cream. It goes on smoothly, blends nicely, covers everything that I feel should be covered...and costs something like $5. I like it better than the high end stuff I have bought. The only thing I don't like is that it has sunscreen in it. I prefer sunscreen to be a separate product...sunscreen loses it efficiency after about an hour and a half so to me having it in a foundation/bb cream/cc cream is more about theater than practicality. You need to keep applying at regular intervals which no one does when it comes to foundation.

I used bare minerals for a long time, but the cost started ticking me off. After some experimenting I found the Loreal mineral makeup was just as good. I have been told it makes my complexion look flawless (its not) and usually pass for quite a bit younger than I am. Bonus: it's almost always on sale at CVS! Do some reading, most makeup can be found in a good quality at a drugstore price point. I'll spend my money elsewhere, lol.

Well first when I started using it they had fewer shades and I was stuck buying a fair shade with a yellow undertone (#2). I've used this shade for about 2 years but I've really hated the yellow undertone and just lived with it. Recently they came out with more shades but I wanted to finish up my bottle first. I just did that and will be buying a new shade .#2 has two shades on either side of it that has cool pink tones-I think I'm going to get the #1.5 with pink undertones but when I shop I'm going to go to Sephora to have them check my skin tone (without makeup) with their gadget thingy that they put up against your face and it's supposed to tell you your exact tone. I'm almost positive #1.5 is correct for me.

I ended up going with a Clinique foundation that is both foundation and concealer. I'll look and see what it's actually called when I get home. It does a great job of covering up all the sun damage on my face!

I tried the new MAC Next to Nothing foundation and I really like it. It matches perfectly to my skin color. Light to medium coverage.

I know I'm a pink undertone girl, but I was thinking I'm a 2.5...but after reading that you think you're a 1.5 now I'm doubting myself as I'm also pretty fair. Was hoping to order online this weekend with the VIB sale. Now I wonder if I should wait until I can stop in a store and see.

Like I mentioned above if you have a Sephora close to you they have a device that is supposed to be able to match your skin tone although I've never tried it. If you go to Ulta their clerks can do a pretty good job but you are at the mercy of what clerk helps you and more importantly under those store lights it really throws off the color. But the clerk I got 2 years ago was great with me. She matched me with a number 2 which was excellent at the time except for the yellow undertone, although it was a teeny tiny bit dark-that's why I'm thinking the 1.5 will be perfect. At least I hope so! Going in saves me the costs of shipping it back if it's wrong.

After reading this thread, I might try the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte, I love trying any kind of make-up. Me too but then it was $11,which I'll admit is not bad but the container seemed tiny and I just don't have an extra $11 this week. It's dog food purchase week and heaven forbid I skimp on dog food lol. Maybe this coming week
