Instead of thinning my stash I've decided to consolidate with more paper storage. It goes in a closet so looks are nottoo important.
Has anyone found a deal lately, or know of sturdy and reasonably priced vertical bins?
Am I using correct term? I've got old black ones from Hobby Lobby that are similar to vertical magazine file bins. I'm looking for something similar.

Not cheap but the Scrap 'n Cube paper trays are the best IMO. They can be used horizontally or vertically. I use them vertically. They are solid wood and amazing! Worth every penny!

I use the old style Cropper Hopper paper holders. Look like the ones linked above. Love them!

I have posted these on lots of threads here, it is serious love ❤️. They aren't a "scrapbooking" product at all, but the container store's multi-purpose bins are awesome for storing paper. The small, medium, and large are the prefect width for paper. They are tall enough to support the paper but still low enough to let you flip through it. Heavy plastic that won't bend or buckle and a built in "handle" for pulling the, out and moving around. I have a half dozen in my cabinets for various categories of stuff. I have my paper divided between two of the medium ones and several kits and collections in the smalls. I really like the medium size for organizing projects like mini books. It can hold the large paper but I also have room for alpha & sticker sheets and can put the album in there with it. I like to contain my projects and be able to put them up when I am not working on them. I also use them to organize our large freezers, but that is a whole other topic, ha ha!

I have the recollections (Michaels) and the Jet Max (Hobby Lobby) ones like these, as well. I have them turned for vertical storage and I love them. I have them stacked 4 high. They are cheaper than the stamp & store and don't have as many slots, only 4. I use my plastic cropper hopper magazine styled holders in them for organizing. They fit perfectly and on a bookshelf, those plastic ones just seemed flimsy to me and didn't have enough support unless they were packed full. I don't see them at either site right now though and I haven't check IRL. I use the total tiffany magazine styled holders for my bookshelf which has colored cardstock or kept magazines and books in them.

i store my paper standing up so i can leaf through them. at the far end of my u-shaped desk area, i have two cabinet depth metal crates that hold my paper so i can stand there and leaf through them. i just purge periodically so the crates aren't so full that i can't pull the papers forward as i look through them.

I use the Recollections Cubes from Michael's. They work well for me and can stack. Buy a few here and there with coupons or on sale and add as needed. It's works great!

Has anyone found a deal lately, or know of sturdy and reasonably priced vertical bins? I use these and they are sturdy if they are full of papers, otherwise they are a bit flimsy. I've bought them at just under $6.00 and they are about $8.00 currently on Amazon. I have an Expedit bookcase from IKEA. Five of these fit in 1 cube just fine. If 1 or 2 of them aren't quite full, the other paper holders keep them standing up just fine. The description says they hold up to 200 sheets of paper. I've never counted to be sure. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009MRKYXU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1ETA: What I like about them is I put labels on the front. When I get new papers and move things around a bit, it's easy to peel off a sticker and add new ones to the front of the holder.

I have the Recollections Cubes also - I have 3 side by side on my table and they work perfectly for my cardstock and patterned paper (I'm a by-colour sorter)

No one has mentioned using RECYCLED Priority boxes. When I get a scrappy order in the mail and the box is not damaged on at least one end, I cut the good end of the box to 9" tall and store my paper in those. My papers are in a walk-in closet, so, no one sees them but me.

First let me say that I love the fact you're choosing organizing over purging. A scrapper after my own heart.
I still have my old Cropper Hopper system. A little FYI--if you go with this system the regular sized holders are good for cardstock but your paper can end up warped or with folded corners due to the bin's size. The paper tends to slide. I've got my paper in the 'paper file' bins which are great. I put them in by company and line.

If I did not have the cropper hopper bins already, I would totally get these: Multi-purpose Bin from The Container Store linkSmall - no good, it tapers down at the bottom Medium - perfect. fits 12x12 paper pads Large - fits 12x12, but it would be too heavy IMO X-lrg - too big I have some of all 4 sizes that I use for different things. They go on sale periodically. There is a video in the website link. They are very sturdy and I think the handles are a plus!

FurryP I wonder if they have changed the multi-purpose bins at some point or if you got an odd batch? I use them too and my smalls are the same width as the medium & large. I even went and checked them because I thought maybe I had my sizes confused. I have noticed that papers with a branding strip that makes them slightly wider than 12" need to be flipped though.

All my solutions are covered...cropper hopper, recollections cubes, priority box conversions...
And I love those container store bins!!! The size "large" would hold thickers like a dream. Hmmmmm.

I use the cropper hopper type of paper holders, but the Hobby Lobby brand since they're less expensive and often go on sale.

Width-wise they fit, but if you look at them sideways, they taper down narrower, while the other ones are not as obvious. I think that if it was full paper, it would topple over. I do use one to keep the newest stuff I have purchased, but if I were actually storing them full of paper, I think the medium would be more stable. That's all.....

FYI- Hobby Lobby has their brand of scrappy stuff, including storage on sale for 50% off this week (ending today, I guess). I bought a 10 pack of paper holders for $6.50 on sale. They're the clearish plastic envelopes with the flap and closure.
