I was just at JoAnn's yesterday getting some stuff for my kid's birthday and saw that they had several Canon Selphy 910's new in the box on the clearance table for $49. I already have one and I like it for doing quick prints at home. It's nice if you only print sporadically because it's not an inkjet.

Oh wow! My old one died and I need a new one. Chances of my Joann's having this is slim to none, though. I checked the website, they're still selling them for full price (more or less, it's on sale at the moment).

I just called and they have it for $34 or $31, can't remember, but OMG. Now have to decide to get it or the Epson. DH just told me he'd get me the Epson for Mom's day.

If you're on a budget, I really recommend the Selphy. You need to play with the colour saturation levels (push 'em up a bit) to get a more truthful print but, otherwise, it's a good cheap alternative I fully endorse. The dye-sub technology works great and the varnish layer on top will definiely withstand water drops. You'll get a 10x15 (cm) rather than a 4x6 print however (which is not a problem at all for 4x3 pockets in PL page protectors but may demand a little bit of matting if you want a snug fit in your 4x6 pockets) and won't have an easy stamping on them (StazOn and a steady hand or a stamp platform without pressing too hard). Those are the drawbacks. But if you're on a budget, that really shouldn't be a problem...

I love my Selphy if I didn't already have one, I'd jump all over this!

Well, hubby went to get the Selphy and it turns out the woman on the phone had the paper/ink pack, not the actual printer. So that's what DH brought home, as he had no idea. I called them and there aren't any printers within 200 miles of where I live. I hope someone else is able to luck out! He said that they are priced at $43 and are being discontinued.

Works for me. I don't understand why they can't just have unperforated paper. Then the prints would be 4x6.

How do you find the settings to do this? Yeah, how do you do that? Lol Easiest way to do it is through an app on your phone like Afterlight or Snapseed. Or Photoshop.

Or even just the regular cacon ink. I would love to know...I got some on sale in March, but I would definitely get more if it's on clearance. So hard to find ink for a good price!

The cheapest I've seen ink and paper packs is Amazon.

I've grown to like the little white line that shows, it's like a little border treatment when it's consistent in my album.
