My husband thinks I have lost it. I had two Tim Hortons coffee mugs I have used since 2008. They were a gift from my sister and I love them and use them every single day. I love my coffee and these mugs are perfect. Right size, right weight, hold plenty. One broke this morning. I was not a happy camper. I went to the local Tim Hortons this am to see if they had one similar, they did not. I have spent well over an hour on ebay trying to determine which mug or mugs I should buy to replace it. When I mentioned it will cost $20 or more to replace a mug, he was pretty surprised. It has to be a Tim Hortons that is the exact same size, even if the pattern is different on the outside.
Anyone else bizarrely attached to an object like this? I have 20 other mugs in my kitchen but I am seriously considering buying multiples so I don't ever not chance not having one.

I have a Leonard Cohen mug that I bought at a concert that is the perfect mug.
I look all the time to find another one, in preparation of the day that I break it by mistake. One day I will find it!

Could you post a picture of the mug. I live in a town that has many thrift stores that usually have Tim Hortons mugs all the time. This information could help other people help you find this mug.

I totally get your pain. I had a huge cappuccino mug from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans that was broken a few months ago. I had gotten it on a trip there in 2001! It was the perfect size and shape. Then finger hook was just right. They did have it on their website to purchase but it just wasn't the same as buying it there. A friend went to Mardi Gras in February and surprised me with my mug from Cafe du Monde. And some stale beignets!! Lol. My mug... shop.cafedumonde.com/for-the-home/mugs/colossal.html

I have a favorite spoon that I always use to eat soup. If it's dirty, I'll wash it just to be able to use it.
I know, nuts.

My work coffee mug is sentimental to me. I bought it in 1993 when I got a hard earned promotion. It's has a chip on tbe rim and its totally crazed and the handle broke off a few years ago (maybe 3 or 4). I'm retiring at the end of August and I'm not sure if I'll keep it or throw it out.

Absolutely feel your pain! I have broken two favorite tea mugs that I have never been able to replace. There's something about the perfect lip and weight that adds to the enjoyment of a hot beverage. Good luck finding a new one.

I've had my favorite mug for 25+ years. My DH didn't get my attachment to it until his ceramic We Are Happy to Serve You cup broke. Fortunately, his was easy to replace but I know mine won't be. I hope you find yours out there.

I do not think you're weird at all. I have a double tall mug that says whatever is good to know is difficult to learn. It is my favorite mug and I am always mad when one of the kids uses it.
In addition, I prefer the forks we bought the time before last too. We are down to only having two of those forks left. I admit when I eat dinner I always look for that fork.

My narcoleptic son had cataplexy and dropped my favorite mug from Kona. It took two different trips there, and checking out several different markets, but I finally found another just like it😀 Coffee is serious. The comfort of using the perfect, familiar mug is a big deal.

For me, it's the mechanical pencil I use at work. I've gone through a few over the past 20 years but it's always been the same model. It feels like the one I have now is going to break soon but the model has been discontinued. And it turns out, my second choice pencil is discontinued also. It will be a sad day for me when I have to use a different one.

My McLovin mug is one of my favorites. I dropped it recently and my husband glued the handle back together (quite crookedly i might mention, but beggars cannot be choosers).

I still mourn the loss of my Sesame Street mug. It was perfection. My bff/housemate broke it, and then didn't realize that I wanted to try to glue it together to hold pencils and threw it away. This was several years ago, but I still miss it.
It was a take on the Hollywood Diner art, but with the Sesame Street characters.

I have a mug that was a gift from my boss and it has a crack in the bottom in the glaze but I kept it to hold pencils. He passed away so it always makes me think of how nice he was and how he remembered everyone's birthday. It also makes me a little sad that he came to give me a birthday card (by then I worked in another building in another department) but I was out of the office getting an ultrasound so i missed him and he died a few days later. I kept the card as well and in fact have plans to meet his wife and another coworker for lunch on Tuesday to remember him, he died over 5 years ago but everyone still thinks of him fondly.

Nope. You're not crazy. I had a black Starbucks mug that was blue on the inside. Probably about 10 years old. I dropped it recently and I wanted to cry. Ok maybe I did a little.

I understand completely. My ex-SIL bought me a set of Maxwell & Williams coffee mugs in different colours and they were the most perfect gift. They were the perfect colour(s), size and shape. I chipped a broke a few of them over the years but I'd just go and buy replacements. Eventually they stopped making them and I was so sad. I hunted high and low but couldn't find them anywhere.
Then about a year ago a different SIL and I were shopping and she ducked into a homewares store and bought me a new set of Maxwell & Williams coffee mugs in different colours. They're my new favorites. (Although I'll always have a special place in my heart for my other ones!)

My favorite drinking cups for coke, tea, and water are cups from a Disney Burger King collection from back in the early 90's. One evening my husband was talking about throwing them out (not realizing they are my favorite cups to drink out of). When I explained how I love these cups, he looked on eBay and found a set of the same cups that someone had collected - still in their original boxes. I ripped those suckers out of their boxes and drink out of them everyday!

I hope the one I'm currently using holds up.

I'm also irrationally attached to a coffee mug. It's sixteen years old. We went to my high school reunion at a country club and I mentioned I liked the coffee mugs. The next morning he made coffee and served it to me in a country club coffee mug. a few years ago I accidentally hit it against the kitchen sink and put a chip in it, right where my lip goes. I still risk a cut lip and use it every day. I've learned to work around the chip.

Ha. My perfect mug is an over-sized one from the dollar that says "Best Mom" on it. My second oldest son bought it for me for my birthday many, many years ago. No matter what other pricey or rare mugs i might acquire from around the world, that one will always be my favorite.
