How do you adjust the settings to get the best pictures printed? I read talk about adjusting but nobody ever tells you exactly how to do that. I usually print from my phone and the app doesn't allow adjustments. Can you only do that if your connected to your computer and print? What do you do? I want to love my Selphy prints, but I love my Charm prints better. Love the wireless feature on the Selphy, but my prints are so so. I don't really want to have to jump through hoops with other apps either. What's your trick? I have Win 10 if it matters.
Edited to add: If you have Win 10 how did you install the drivers? I used a 3rd party but I don't have the program to click on to change settings.
Thanks!

I print from Photoshop. Under the print dialog box you can click into the settings for the Selphy and adjust brightness, color, and contrast there. I usually wind up doing +1 or +2 brightness, +1 red, and +2 saturation on top of whatever editing I've done to the photo in Photshop. Generally speaking with those setting my Selphy prints match what I see on my monitor.

I print from PSE on my computer and do all of my edits from there. I'm never totally happy with any of my phone camera pics straight from the phone anyway. It seems like I always need to crop or edit so I fix the color at that point too.

I tried lots of ways to get better looking prints on the Selphy. I always edit my photos and print right from Lightroom. I tried bumping up the brightness a few stops right in Lightroom. I tried changing the defaults on the printer. Go through the menu and increase brightness, change color tone to vivid or neutral.
I still couldn't get the print to be as good as it was on my old Epson ink jet or a photo printed at Persnickety with the original Lightroom edits.

I edit my phone pics with pic tap go and then print directly from my phone. Usually Lights On does the trick.

I'm a Photoshop gal. All my pics get a little extra smart sharpening and a boost in colours before printing. I adjust manually to get them just the way I want them.
Any app or image editing program should allow you to play with basic things such as brightness, curve, saturation, etc. I'd suggest giving it a go by trying out different things with one same pic and saving the different results, printing them all out and deciding on which setting changement you liked best as a reference to continue adjusting your photos in the future.

When I got my new computer it came installed with Win 10. I couldn't install my Selphy so I used third party directions so I could use the wifi on my computer. I can't find the selphy program on my computer to make any changes to the settings.
Has anyone had any luck installing your Selphy to Win 10 using Win 7 drivers. I've heard talk about it, but I'm afraid to try as it might mess up my ability to print from my computer with other applications.

I haven't had any problems at all using the Windows 7 drivers with Windows 10.

Is this because you already had your selphy installed before you upgraded to win 10 on an existing computer or did you buy a new computer that had Win 10 and then installed your selphy with Win 7 drivers? Thanks!

Thanks! I bought a new laptop with Windows 10. I had been using the Selphy with my old laptop and Windows 7. I installed the Windows 7 drivers on my new laptop, per the instructions on the Canon website, and they are working just fine.

Generally speaking with those setting my Selphy prints match what I see on my monitor. Do you do this in conjunction with the settings on the actual printer as well? What setting is better vivid or positive film? Or do you not change any of those settings? I have a huge project to work on and I'd like to use up my multiple boxes of ink then possibly sell the printer later. Edited to add: in the manage your device setting for the Selphy printer I see when I click on Printer properties, then Color management there is a box that says "Use my settings for this device" should I check that box? What does it mean specifically? Thanks!
