mikklynn, I wish you could teach me how to throw out sticker sheets. I love to organize! (hate to clean, but do it when I organize.) But it usually takes me a couple of years to find the perfect spot for things. It's a joke it my house. I'm currently rearranging a few things in my craft room and doing a major re-org on the rest of the house. I love lace ribbon, I use it a bit, but not nearly as much as I buy it.

I don't do project life.....the idea removes all the fun for me...maybe I just like cutting things up I started with PL and I find it so much harder to accomplish than regular layouts. It's the compartmentalization, I guess. I don't take enough photos to have multiple sizes or orientations of them. So sometimes I have too many 4x6s or too many 3x4s. A scrapbook layout can be any photo size. So much more versatile. The one thing I do like about PL, though, is that it's easier to capture the mundane or ordinary. I thought about project life but that's just more page protectors I have to buy. Lol. I've never intended to do PL but I sure have a good stash of pocket cards

Congratulations on chatterbox! You deserve it for doing so much to boost our little GS threads.
Making cards is not my favorite but I do for family and close friends. They have told me they enjoy them and keep them. I usually wait until the last minute. They are not always beautiful but sometimes silly or funny with a joke or crazy picture. Usually there is a big check in them so maybe that is the reason they like them!

I've never intended to do PL but I sure have a good stash of pocket cards I didn't like the idea of PL because I didn't want to be forced to use the same design for the back side of my page. So, I make grid layouts once in awhile in a standard 12x12 page protector. Looks the same, but without the commitment.

It's very liberating. I used to get so frustrated looking through a pile of Thickers packages and not one had all the letters I need. Sometimes I mix and match, but not always. So once I've used up all the "u" for "n", etc. I throw them away. Scrapbooking should not drive me crazy! I've never regretted it.

And if you think about it, that random letter X that's sitting there, staring at you, probably cost about half a cent. But for me, that half-a-cent letter X is costing me many dollars worth of angst and guilt in trying to use it, worrying about keeping it, storing it, moving it around, having it get in the way of the supplies I DO like, etc. So I finally decided to let go of the angst and guilt (and make more space for the things I DO like) by tossing the bits and pieces of things that I KNOW I won't ever use up.

I make letters I need out of other letters. I have gotten quite creative and in the page protector it is not noticeable except to us scrapbookers who notice every little thing. Now I won't do a whole long thing like this but if I am out of a certain vowel or a t or s or something I will make it work from another letter.

I still dream of making all those random leftover letters into a cute background. I do toss them, but it takes me FOREVER! to finally do so. I need to take a page out of your books.

It's not something I do...but something I think about. I hate how everyone scraps children all the time, whether they're their own or simply related. There are more things to life than children. Where are your stories? Sorry if that was harsh. No apologies needed. I am working on a 6X8 album of ME right now and it is rather strange since I have only scrapped my kids/dog/family stuff for so long. I finally figured out it was time to pout MY stories down so they will remember me sometime too but 12X12 was too daunting so I settled on this smaller size and it works. I am also making sure i get in more photos finally ! Save I'm not sure I even remember my stories!! Such a great point!

mikklynn , you are my hero! I need to learn from you and do that! LOL. Go ahead - try it! next thing you know, you'll be throwing away scraps of paper that are actually larger than 1 inch square!! (I myself have gotten all the way up to to towwing a 2x2 inch square of patterned paper without guilt, lol! )

I'm a crazy scrap thrower-awayer, I've thrown away even larger pieces. like 3x4 & 2x10 before.

oh, me too- usually. But sometimes I find myself starting to eye the small pieces again, thinking, "well, maybe I could use that for..." and then I have to mentally smack myself, lol! And it doesn't help that I've started doing pocket letters, because those spaces are only 2.5 x 3.5 inches, so smaller pieces will actually work for those. I really have to think of it like 'if I don't make room, I can't get more.' (although come to think of it, that thought has never actually stopped me from BUYING the new, pretty paper!! )

crimsoncat05, I've trained myself to be OK with throwing out paper scraps, but it was hard in the beginning for sure! But I've realized that I will never EVER get to the end of my blue or green paper, so it is OK to let go of that 3 x 4 piece....Oh, I love me some paper.

I think people find it shocking that I DON'T use an ATG. No interest in having one.[/quotes I hated mine. It was to clunky. Was too big. I'd get one if it was half the size.

I have more than 240 punches. Most of them are Martha Stewart or EK Success. I have a list of all of my punches in my purse so I don't buy two of the same kind. I love punches.

I'm not a big Glitter Girl/Shimelle fan. In fact, I don't really like her much at all. I'm not a huge Stacy Julian, Becky Higgins, or "celebrity" fan at all. I like only a few scrapbooking/stamping celebs.

You know those 150 cards I finished at last weekend's crafty retreat? They were all cut out with my trusty Big Shot. All those pieces and parts, insides and outs (because I can't do a single layer card) were lovingly cranked out by hand.
All the while my Vagabond, which I bought in November, sits in its unopened box.

Glitter is the spawn of Satan! I DON'T love Maggie Holmes. Yes, I've purchased some of her collections (mostly in kits); but I honestly don't care for much of her stuff, especially the die cuts and such. I do like some of the paper.

I am addicted to matting photos. So addicted that even when I do pocket scrapbooking I still trim each 4x6 photo down by a 1/4 inch so that I can mat it. I even find that I like the look of un-matted photos on other people's layouts but I just like doing the photo mats for some reason.
I regularly get obsessed, and I mean obsessed, with tracking down retired collections and tools spending a small fortune on shipping (not to mention hours of my time).
Despite having a very healthy stash of older collections, I still buy more (see above). I miss the days of the distressed paper, and all my favourite old brands (Basic Grey, Junkitz, early Crate Paper, etc.)
I buy Thickers but feel wasteful using them, so I save them and cut titles on my Silhouette or Big Shot instead.

I'm a digital scrapper, so already I'm an outlier here!
I almost never print my layouts. They all live on my computer in multiple hard drives, multiple online galleries, my blog and my phone. I like how they look on a computer screen with light shining through them. Makes me feel like I'm looking at them on TV or something.
I never buy (digi) scrappy supplies, so that pretty much makes me a non-shopper, and scrapbook rebel.
I scrap very few kid layouts, although I have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. When I started, my youngest was in high school, so I got used to doing mostly layouts about things I was interested in: travel, family history, museums and historic sites, etc. I do occasionally scrap the young ones, but not that often.
I don't really like crafts very much at all, as a matter of fact. I do occasionally make things: I sew a little, and sometimes make a wreath or holiday decoration. I've made greeting cards since I was a little girl, but they are all designed specifically for a person, so I don't make a stash of them.
I'm an artist/designer by profession so I admit I'm kind of a scrapbooking snob. But I would NEVER criticize anyone's style or creative expression. (Unless they asked, LOL) I refuse to use someone else's art on my layouts, (unless I was scrapping about, say, an art museum). That's weird, I own it.
