Had a mint julep while watching the Derby and now I am working on a bottle of wine. Sitting at home on a Saturday night with my beloved husband is a good thing! No plans and no responsibilities!
What are you doing tonight?

I planted flowers today for 6.5 hours. Everything on my body is sore. Trying not to nap.

I planted flowers today for 6.5 hours. Ohhhhh....what did you plant? What zone are you in? I am in 5a, 5b and 6b. Ha. Can one city be in three zones? Probably. I live right next to the Rocky Mountains and our city can have a blizzard and summer weather two different spots of the city (weird place to live). I filled 28 pots with hyacinth, roses, marigolds, dianthus, pansies, petunias, poppies, Gerber daises, daises potato vines, vinca vines... anything that looked bright and pretty (from Home Depot and Lowe's). I also added snapdragons to the back gardens which mostly have perennials. Snapdragons come back sometimes, so I am hoping these do too. According to our weather forecast, we shouldn't get below 40 degrees until fall. I say that full knowing that the last two Mays we got a huge dump of hail in May. I am a flower optimist and can move my plants for cover in about 4 minutes.

I did find that my quirky little corgi loved to jump in and out of the flower wagon when I rolled it from the garage to the back yard. When my son pulled it, he just stayed in the wagon. He clearly does not trust my driving.

950nancy I love your selection of color and texture! Snapdragons can come back...you are right! What color potato vine...plum or green? I love how much potato vine can grow and fill in so quickly. I am also a fan of king coleus in all of the color variations and caladiums.

950nancy I have a long hair chihuahua mix and I am pretty certain that the mix is Corgi. Joey is a low rider and is about 14 pounds. He has the classic Corgi butt and the little Corgi front feet wiggle!

I am also a fan of king coleus in all of the color variations and caladiums. I found both plum and green at a local nursery in March. They had gallon containers that each had three huge vines already full and ready to plant. Each set of three was $6. Usually a small (one vine) cost about $5. I bought five containers. I don't have anywhere (garden wise) that I can plant coleus. All of my gardens/pots get full sun. My neighbor plants them in her yard right by her house and hers are gorgeous.

I bought Trader Joe's Jalapeno Limeade to make margaritas with but I think I'm too conservative with making my own drinks because I never get a buzz.

I worked today and my dinner date cancelled. I came home, had a shower and fully expected to source out a new dinner date but I accidentally put my jammies on and opened a bottle of wine. I have a potato in the oven for dinner.

Joey is the instigator of play and the stubborn one. He will pick up the ball to play fetch but he wants you to fight for the ball. He is very vocal and loves to be in the middle of everything!

I'm sitting in my favorite spot in the living room patiently waiting for the BF to stop tinkering with the snowblower we just bought today. 5 min before he went out to the garage he said let's watch a movie so I poured two margaritas and open the chips and salsa and now I wait. I'm guessing at this point I'll just consume his drink while peaing 😁

I love this! Peas who are having fun and being silly! It is a lovely adjustment from the weekly stress of our lives and the political environment. Sometimes it is okay to sit back and just chill!
Thank you....I love this board. I have been a pea for almost 13 years...between the two boards. I cannot believe that I have spent this much time on an internet message board and how much I am invested in it!

So many of you are in my prayers. I like to see your children and I love photos of your pets and vacations.

I made blackberry margaritas tonight to celebrate nothing. I saw the recipe on Facebook and had blackberries, so I tried it. Cointreau, triple sec, tequila and blackberries. :-)

My husband spent the day in the garage drinking and now he's asleep at 7 pm. Bless his heart, I'll be eating dinner by myself tonight! He does this once in a blue moon, I can't be mad.
