I have a fridge full of leftovers. They can choose from chicken tortilla soup, teriyaki chicken bowl, risotto or PW's chicken nuggets. I think that should make them happy. If not there's always my good friend, cereal. Busy Monday is here and it'll be nice to not have to worry about dinner. I'll be enjoying a nice acupuncture high and that means blissful relaxation.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful Monday and a super joyous week.

My week got off to an awful start this morning. I had to head out for German class, and was late to the train - not that it was a problem, as the trains were running late. Finally got onto second train - first was packed worse than sardines in a can - then had to catch bus. Got onto bus which should have been correct bus, but it headed off in the opposite direction. Off at first stop, took return bus, expecting to stay on it to my destination. Oh no, get back to original stop, told to get of and wait for next bus; he was also heading back in the opposite direction. By this stage, I am seriously considering how much I wanted to go to class, but next bus pulled up right behind, so I got in and was only 15 minutes late. Oh, and all this time it was pouring rain!
Dinner tonight is going to be pizza - I just have to check what is in the freezer. DH isn't home for dinner, as his boss is visiting from Sweden and they are eating together.

I'm going to try again with the Costco chicken, Knorr rice mix, and artichokes. We'll see how that goes.

Book group tonight. We did not discuss dinner this morning. We had burgers last night after a grueling session shoveling dirt, and it looks like it might be more of the same. I did make greek salad, though, so a re-run on that is promising!

My idea for tonight was a cross between mac & cheese and a Hawaiian bbq pizza, but after prepping it, I have a feeling that it will end up in the "it was a good idea at the time" column.

We're having instant-pot chicken soup. We've made a start on remodelling the back garden and this was the best I could come up with 😀

Dh out of town and I am making a cheese quesadilla with the dreaded guacamole. The tribe honors the strong-willed AussieMeg for standing up to her husband and telling him about our thread. We are behind you all the way (except for helping pack boxes for you) and will await the photos of the new kitchen. Thanks for the thread.

Hot dogs and either pasta salad or cole slaw, both bought at the store on Saturday. Ditto on the hot dogs. We will have fresh fruit and roasted potatoes with it. We've got baseball at 6 so we will eat before we head to the field. We've got busy evenings this week... All baseball filled! Game every night except Wednesday and that's practice day

There were no games anywhere at any level after Wednesday (or was it Tuesday...).

I had my yearly opthalmologist appointment today. Always hate that, but fortunately everything was stable. Celebrated with a chocolate afterwards.
Dinner was crunchy chicken with a salad and garlic bread, something both kids like. And since it's freezing cold here today (almost literally, it was 1C this morning) and a VERY cold wind, I made hot chocolate.

Three Pepper Pork Cutlets (Southern Living cb) here tonite. Baked potato & green salad on the side. Hang in there, sueg. Fingers crossed, The Birdhouse Lady. newlywoods03, when my older son played LL, we ate at the concession stand every game nite. We OD'd on hotdogs! Now that he's turning 21, I have to admit, I miss those days!!

Best of luck for good news for your dd The Birdhouse Lady Dh and his "diet" required something primarily plant based tonight Works for me because I could easily be vegetarian We are having Latin Chipotle Quinoa Salad with Avocado ... I'm adding some corn because I can ... I think it will be really good The dd's can share a frozen pepperoni pizza because there is no way they will touch this salad

OK, I read this several times and am still having a problem putting mac & cheese and Hawaiian bbq pizza in the same dish. Crossing my fingers for a good report for Kait, The Birdhouse Lady! We are having stuffed vegetables (zucchini, peppers & tomatoes). It has been cold here the last few days - like full length jeans, long sleeved shirts & socks cold - and we need something hot from the oven. SaveSave

We had so much wind night before last that it uprooted and tossed a HUGE tree into our neighbor's across the street driveway, thankfully not on their house. I could hear the saws going at the crack of dawn, so I started my day off grumpy too. I have to go choose colors for our new condo this afternoon, which I am excited about, but none of my people (dh, dd, or bff) are free to go help me. There is an open invitation out for any pea that can meet me at 3:00 to do this! I know I will be in no mood to cook when I get home. Fibro allows me to do 2-3 things max in a day before I can't go anymore. You know what I want for mother's day? A Star Trek replicator! When are they going to come up with this technology??!! Push a button, say what you want (i.e. pasta salad) and bleep! There it is. And no dishes afterwards. Just put them in the replicator to be recycled. I want credit for this idea when it happens.

I put the honey garlic chicken in the crockpot this am. We will see how it turns out. I don't like the smell so far.

Well, in the it's-a-small-world department I have this nugget: DH went this morning to sign up at a local gym (free because Kaiser is paying for it!) Anyway, the guy checking him in told DH he used to live in Pleasanton and moved up here for a slower pace and less expensive housing. Retired firefighter who used to commute to the Bay Area for his 4-day shift. DH comes home and tells me the story and I said *I bet it's John Smith ~ his son was in DS's class in Kindergarten!* I called a mutual friend and confirmed that it is indeed the same guy! For dinner, I have a tri-tip marinating in the refrigerator. Yum!! Oh, and DS decided to take Friday off so he will be here for the 3-day weekend! Can't wait to see him.

I made a massive mistake in trying to save time and bought a ready meal from the supermarket (sweet and sour chicken - looked great both on the photo and in it's little plastic pieces) - then made something else!! Technically, I have had two 'dinners' but only ate one!! Sadly, the one I had was cheese on toast with peri peri sauce to spice it up! I am starving now!!

Lovely day here in the sunny south. I hope to be outside soon for a walk and a look around the garden. So many weeds already, so little time. We're having spaghetti and garlic bread. Meat sauce for DH and plain red sauce for me. Thinking of The Birdhouse Lady and Kait.

Thankfully each week will not be like today. There are some days when they played at the same time, but at different fields. Plus a couple of days where it's back to back games. Phew gotta love baseball season Ohh and ODS is doing great on the pitching machine. He has been able to get on base with each time at bat. He is playing catcher, pitcher and short stop. He isn't super fond of catching and he probably won't be there as he gets older since he is a lefty, but it's fun right now.
