So for the past few month we have been doing nothing but from scratch cooking. I mean everything is homemade and tonight is one of the night That i just wish we could eat like a normal family. Not having to read every label, double check every item going into a dish. I am just super sick of cooking all the time.
Now good thing is that it is helping all of us lose some weight and getting healthier.

Now good thing is that it is helping all of us lose some weight and getting healthier. That's good! I'm waiting for approval from my insurance for a couple of tests. Normal approval time is 48 hours. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks!

Ugh. Spent the weekend at the lake cabin which should have been great. But it was so windy and the pollen count was really high which = misery in my world. Now my sinuses are clogged, I have a sore throat and it's supposed to be bad allergy days around here at home for most of the week.

I just got a phone call for my mom about the election tomorrow. Not a vent. Just a sad sigh.

Dear rain, could you wait until we actually get the sod in rather than keep delaying us?
As, I ordered my mattress a week ago and I WANT IT NOW!

I hsve a couple of vents.
A dude ran a red light and crashed into my DD a week ago. Luckily she wasn't injured, but her car was damaged. Since she's only 19, she can't get a rental car. I am having to shuttle her back and forth to work. The damned insurance company has had her car for a week and hasn't even looked at it yet. Dear little new college grad nurses, quit whining because you don't want to work nights, holidays, or weekends. You work in a hospital. WTF did you expect? Oh, and you think seniority is unfair. Bite me. Signed, the bitchy old nurse with 25 years of experience on this unit.

By 9am on a Monday, I was already done with one of my coworkers. By 5pm, I was ready to call it a week. Not sure how I'm going to get through this week.

Three days of state testing capped off by a full moon. I already had two fourth grade boys try to kill each other in my classroom floor this afternoon. Going to be a loooioong week!

We used to have ours start the day after Daylight Saving time. The kids practically napped through the first two days of it. Hang in there. Summer's a comin'!

And I'm so over the new grad attitude that seems to be contagious in my department, too. If I hear, "it isn't fair that I have to work 4th of July and Christmas this year," ONE more time, I might implode!!! If you want that kind of schedule, go work in a clinic or the OR. My vent: getting married in a few weeks and need to change insurance coverage but his coverage is terrible but my facility says that if your spouse has insurance where he/she works, the spouse is only eligible for secondary coverage with my employer. So frustrating!! Plus, I can get free wellness center access if I use MY policy but will have to pay $25 per month to keep my membership there. It would be so nice if we could all be on my policy. The program we use for our time clock at work hasn't been working for over a week. This is why we should be able to handle our own time cards every two weeks.

We started it in November and his numbers got a lot better. We just got his newest numbers in and they weren't as good as the previous ones. His kidney dr had changed his meds last visit and this accounted for some of the increased numbers, but part of the change was also the fact that we had gotten sloppy with his diet. Not terribly sloppy, but just enough to mess him up again. I'm so frustrated and angry with myself. Marcy

Facebook....I am so tired of some of the things I read and I just can't say what I really want, because it would be mean. For example, my ex-SIL (who I truly like) was vague posting about her ex husband and his cheating....ummm..one of your kids does not look like the others....we all know who cheated. I actually have never heard her talk about his cheating until now, and they've been divorced for years.

My dh has been having some medical issues for the past 2 months that requires numerous doctor and hospital visits. The problem is some of the medical staff isn't very good at dealing with his disability and a few could care less period. It has been difficult at best. We've have some really good doctors/nurses but seems like the bad ones stand out more and cause the most problems. We only have 3 more visits so the end is in sight. On the plus side my dh really is a trooper and he has kept his cool and endured more than I think I could ever have.

We were able to rent cars for our daughters when they were teens using the insurance that we already had on them. Talk to her insurance agent and see what they say and talk to the rental car company. (Instead of them renting a limo for prom night, we rented super fine new cars for them to drive and they both when presented with the option loved it.) Save

Not having to read every label, double check every item going into a dish. I am just super sick of cooking all the time. Now good thing is that it is helping all of us lose some weight and getting healthier. Cooking day in and out is hard. My best advice is to make double recipe portions every time you cook and freeze half, so that is one whole meal you won't have to prepare again. You could use it on a busy day or a day you don't feel well. Also, prepare in batches. I think I read that you are cooking from scratch to avoid added chemicals and dyes. Cut up entire cantaloupe and keep it covered in the fridge. Make a large green salad with greens, bell peppers, mushrooms, beans, & cherry tomatoes and keep it covered it in the fridge. It will keep for 2 days, easy, as long as it's not dressed. Bake 3 meals worth of chicken breast. Use one night with steamed vegetables and rice. Next night chop it up and use it in a casserole. Third night add a new seasoning to it & serve it with a different fruit/veg/starch of your choice. If you cook ahead, making dinner can be more heating up than cooking a whole new meal.

The neighbors said they were having some fence work done and a portion moved, since it's on the property line and backs some garden beds/trellis, spouse took the day off work to be here in case there were any issues to address etc. No one showed up and no was done, so we did some yard work but it felt like a wasted day. And I think I got into some poison ivy.
Dd had a track meet that was so poorly run yesterday it was 2 hours longer than normal, and youngest missed his Cub Scout meeting.
Oldest applied for a summer stem program and last week found out he was on the waitlist. He had a new email yesterday so got his hopes up, only to be reinformed that he's on the waitlist.
Full moon and a month until summer = crazy kids.
Ugh how can it only be Tuesday??

My vent:
Nerve pain caused by shingles.
It's like nothing I've ever felt before. It's been a solid week and a half. Doctor said it could last months. That some people endure flare ups for years due to post-shingles nerve damage.
I'm trying hard not to be miserable. Pain makes it hard to concentrate and makes me feel dumb.
The spoon theory is really starting to make sense to me. I wake up and I've rested, so I have more energy. As the day progresses, the constant pain wears on me. My hands shake. I get sort of snappy (I'm really trying not to). I have less patience. If I have things to get done, they need to be done by 5 pm. After that, my shoulder blade all the way down to my elbow are just aching and on fire.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I need a new hearing aid. Mine is on its last leg. I had it in my little dryer ever since Sunday. I had a moment of clear sound this moment and then bam, muffled again. Back into the dryer. It's a little better than yesterday but not good enough.
I don't know how much longer I can put together getting a new one. Problem is that they're expensive, more than what we have saved and they're not covered by insurance. Even if they were, we wouldn't even come close to our deductible.

Hearing loss assn of America - financial aid programsI have no idea if you would qualify for anything listed here, but it was just a thought. I hope you are able to get a new one soon. I'm sorry they are so expensive. It just isn't fair. It shouldn't be treated like a luxury.
