Bummed heading to Chicago for a Lax tournament and wanted to take the kids to Ed Debevics and just read they are closed! Is there another fun/similar place anyone can recommend? We will not have much down time from the tourney but would like to find a fun place for the kids to eat. Thanks so much

I can't help you but just had to say Ed Debevic's was the best!!! There was one here during the 90's that I went to at least once a month. I cried when it closed.

EAT AT ED'S! I still have the cap. One year I picked up a salad to go on my birthday and made them sing the Happy Birthday song to me. It was the snarkiest birthday song ever.

There are a few Giordano's in Chicago. DD really liked it when she went a few years ago.

OMG I haven't heard that restaurant's name in FOREVER...My girlfriend and I went to it when we lived in LA in the late 80s. We got such a kick out of it. I had no idea they were still around (or not?) I think I even kept one of their menus!

My daughter just went to Sugar Factory and loved it. Obviously, lots of sugar. She was at a party and they had milkshakes & pancakes for dinner! :-O
Johnny Rocket's has an old time diner feel.

Great dogs, that's for sure! Not the same kind of fun as Ed's, but good dogs.

When I was there last they had a family section that was less raunchy. The comments were things like "what do you want to eat besides your own boogers" and things like that.

I've heard there was a Chicago restaurant who does this, but I didn't remember the name was Ed Debevics. I had to google.
