Well, I said I wasn't going to update but I did. Curiosity got the best of me ... I'm back to the cloud... which I wasn't really a fan of, but what I'm finding more annoying is how everything has been moved and the icons are small. I knew the older version like the back of my hand, didn't need to think about where any of the tools were, but now I feel lost. I want to go back to the older version but somehow I think that I should just keep this one and get used to it. Kind of proves that I'm not keen on change!

After I saw that they had done that, I decided not to upgrade unless someone brought up a compelling reason to upgrade. So far, no one has.
Seriously, why do software engineers feel a compulsion to move stuff around? It annoys most established users to have to get used to changes in software, anyway, but when it is compounded by something like icons being moved and made smaller, it's just aggravating.

I agree! If it ain't broke and all of that. Seems like tinkering just for the sake of it.

what I'm finding more annoying is how everything has been moved and the icons are small. I've just installed Version 4 this morning. You can change the size of the icons in Edit>Preferences>Display (the computer screen icon). It's called Button Size and you can use the slider to increase them to a size you like. Also, you can have Multiple Panels - and I've discovered they can be stacked underneath each other and clicking arrows opens them or closes them. It's rather good. A bit difficult to explain by writing, so I'll try and do a short video tomorrow to demonstrate. It may be that it will help you place items where you'd like them and make it a happier experience.

I didn't even know I could downgrade! I'm not a fan of the cloud. Lisa, I'm not a fan of the cloud either. My software updated a few months ago and I downgraded back to Ver 3.6.57. If you do downgrade, be sure to go into Edit, Preferences, General and change Check for updates to Never. Thanks. I totally wouldn't have thought to do that.

THANK YOU JANE!!! You've just made my experience with the software 100% better!!! The multiple panels reminds me of Photoshop Elements, something I use almost daily, so this is also a good thing! I think that as I adjust to the new look and feel of the software, I will actually like it more than the older version I was using!!

THANK YOU JANE!!! You've just made my experience with the software 100% better!!! You're welcome The only part I am not sure I like is sending to Silhouette. However, I use a second computer for that and may leave it at Version 3. Whenever I get a new program or update I always mess about looking at customisation options. Mostly it's to help me with mouse control so I like to know just what I can make easier for myself. I did have a spot of trouble finding the Point Editor, I didn't see all the little options at the top of the workspace. Then I got cramp, did an unintended double-click and it opened a panel called... Point Editing! I can't tell you the number of times I've discovered a trick because my hand does something daft
