I can't quote from my phone because I mess it up, but wanted to address a few posts.
I don't think she's an alcoholic. Her husband may be. He is the life of the party, a happy drunk.
My husband didn't invite her because he has never hosted an event before so he just invited the "usual suspects" which is family who are at our events usually. It wasn't a slight, he wouldn't exclude anyone intentionally. It was just family who came.
He likes her well enough but thinks she can be a flake.
I didn't want to lie to her. Saturday I didn't have the time or will to address it so I guess I did lie when I replied back to her. I couldn't decide if I was being overly sensitive or if I was "justified" in being irritated. She messaged last night but I was headed to bed so I left it.
Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate the different perspectives.
