I used to order a lot from EH but then they raised their international shipping charges so I stopped. But, I could not resist the beautiful stamp set and die they were selling to fundraise for Breast Cancer Research Foundation a couple of weeks ago. I ordered three other stamp sets since I was already paying for shipping. I got the order today, and had to pay $17 Canadian for it. Then, I opened up the box, and saw that the four stamp sets could have easily been sent in an envelope. I have attached photo. I wrote my first customer complaint today. I do not understand how SSS international shipping is $7.99 US and sometimes there are $5 off coupon when EH is so much more. I have never paid customs on any packages from SSS. I know Canadian customs have nothing to do with EH so I know they cannot do anything about it.
Where are are international shoppers shopping for their craft supplies???
ETA I could not upload the image of the huge box the products came in.

As a European scrapper, I cannot afford buying anything straight from the US except Studio Calico because their international shipping rates are low and they automatically fill in the customs form as there being $15 worth of purchase in the box. No surprise fees. It's just a shame SC has gone downhill and isn't offering anything worth buying these days... I fully rely on the EU-located scrap stores (no customs duties between EU countries) and their purchasing choices as well as timeline of arrival of goods. If you haven't bought something when it made to the continent, you're out of luck since most don't place a second or third order for the same goods. You've just got to buy it as soon as it makes it into their store or those chipboard stickers will be gone and no longer available. Some Creativation/CHA 2017 lines are still not in store over here. It's tough being an international scrapper. I have to make choices and decide what I'm willing to pay more for and what I just have to accept I won't get. C'est la vie... Mei Li Paperie (free international shipping for $60+ orders) scrapbook.com and ACOT are well-liked by internationals too but you'll still have to deal with the important fees.

I buy most of my craft supplies from the US as the range here in New Zealand isn't that good. Apart from my CD kit I mostly buy from Amazon, SSS and Papertrey Ink. Shipping costs always add a lot to cost, but at least I don't pay import duties.
The NZ postal service also offers a free US shipping address which I use a lot because they have special deals for shipping pricing which sometimes works out cheaper than having it sent directly from a US seller.
