I've recently been thinking about upgrading to a Cameo 3. I have one of the very first Cameos, and there is nothing at all wrong with it, but somehow I think it may be time to upgrade. Can anyone who has upgraded let me know if it was worth making the change? As well, I'm wondering if I can use Graphtec CB09 blades in the Cameo 3. I have a bunch and I had great success initially using them with my original Cameo, but I fiddled with the blade and I haven't had any luck with them since. With the auto blade in the Cameo 3, do these types of blades work?

Awesome anniefb! Thanks for letting me know! I've posted my cameo on a local website for sale. If it sells I will buy the Cameo 3. If it doesn't, I'll probably continue to use my original until it either stops working or I break down and pick one up!

So since posting this I decided that I would try to sell my original Cameo, and if that worked, I'd buy the Cameo 3. Looks like I have a buyer. Is there anything I have to do before selling it? Deauthorize it or something? Or once it is no longer hooked up to my computer is that good enough?

As far as I know there's nothing you need to do streetscrapper. Did you register your machine with Silhouette? I guess that's the only thing you might want to update in due course.

I thought I might have to somehow disconnect it or deauthorize it, but I don't seem to see that option. Obviously the warranty is long gone so there is nothing to worry about there but I thought I could remove it completely and I can't. In fact my old silhouette SD still shows up on my account as being registered to me and I haven't had that for a very long time! So I guess you don't have to do anything but shut it down and disconnect the cables... and get ready to start up the new one!! So excited to be getting the latest version tomorrow!! My old Cameo was a workhorse and served me well, but I am really looking forward to playing with the new one and using some of the features that I didn't have before!

Have fun with your new machine. I updated to a Cameo 3 just before Easter, after my old Craft Robo (not even a Silhouette, it was that old) bit the dust. I am enjoying playing around with all it can do so much.

Finally had a chance to play with my new Cameo last night! Wow!! It really is awesome! Not that there was anything wrong with my original (purchased way back in October 2011), but I do think it's a little quieter and the cuts are just a little cleaner. The new software... well that's just another story altogether! Took me 20+ minutes to figure out where they hid the settings for the cut lines!!

The new V4 software is a bit of an adjustment - but I love it!
Did you do the full setup for your Cameo3? I still have the original Cameo, but I am a member of a few Facebook groups that deal with the Silhouette machines, so I am a little familiar with it.
You need to follow the setup process and update the firmware.

Previous software updates have seemed minor, but this one is like a whole new interface. Once I start to remember where all the settings live now, I'm sure I'll love it too!

I'm considering downloading v4 and playing around with it to see if I like it. It does sound as if there are some useful new features there and coming.

But what do you mean by doing the "full setup".

But what do you mean by doing the "full setup". There is an 8 step setup process for it. Some of it you may have already done, since you are a previous Silhouette user... but it involves getting the firmware update, setting up your account, registering the machine, etc. Once you have it all registered - you will get an email with a 30 Day/$25 trial subscription to the Silhouette Design Store to spend. You have 30 days from the minute you start it to spend $25 worth of credits at the Store. Once you spend them and download them, they are yours to keep, but if you wait to long to spend - the subscription expires. www.silhouetteamerica.com/setup/en/cameo-3

Thanks iowgirl! Yes I did all that, but most of it had been done when I got my first cameo!
