I scrap only twice a year, for the most part, at weekend retreats. Once in September of which I kit up my photos from Jan- June. I scrap again in March or April in which I kit up all my photos feom July- Dec of the previous year. I always start each retreat working on the layouts I didn't get to at the previous retreat, before working on new ones. Generally I am caught up to about 6 months previous.
At my last retreat I made sure I did all my existing kits for layouts for ds18 first, to be ready for his open house. That meant all I had left to was Jan-current of this year. I printed the pics last night and worked this evening on those. I needed to complete 14 pages (7 layouts) and they are done! I also designed 6 layouts for his graduation ceremony pics so I will only have to add the photos.
He has 12 album that hold 50-60 pages each. - 1 school album pre k-11th grades - 1 senior year album - 1 sports album aged 5- current - 1 birth and birthdays album - 3 holiday albums - 5 misc (everything else) albums
We will have 15 round tables at his open house. I plan on placing the albums in the center of 12 of the tables, so people sitting at the tables can look through them, if they choose. I am not sure what I will be do for the remaining 3 tables.
Going forward I will probably only scrap holidays and misc photos. His birthday (18th) and school and sports albums are completed.

Wow! Sounds like an awesome way to celebrate his grad! And celebrate HIM! I am sure everyone will enjoy going through his books.
The album I have put together for my dgs will have copies of all the pages I have created about him over the years, about 200 printed pages in all. They all fit in one 3-ring album b/c they are so thin.
Will your ds be taking those albums with him when he goes away to school? Or will he be leaving them with you until he has settled into a job later?

The plan is to have custom made shelves made for each of the kids (I have 3 kids, with two more graduating in 2018 and 200) to fit their books and the shelves and books will be part of their wedding gifts. He seems to think he will marry his current girlfriend one day (they are 17 and 18, though, so who knows what the future really holds) so he did tell her tonight that she better let him take his books, lol.

Wow, that's a great idea putting them out at his graduation party!! And great job being almost caught up with them. I'm gonna have to remember this to do for my DS who graduates in 2018.

How awesome you got your sons books done! I have a senior as well, and I had to give up the idea that I would have his books done in time for his party. It just wasn't going to get done.
