I was looking at infant photos of my kids, and some of the things I love the very best are that they are so themey!
I was using my Silhouette then, and would make diecuts to fit any theme.
Baby outfits provide the best themes. Giraffes, monkeys, turtles, bees, frogs.
I love that I outlines so much in Stickles. I had a lot of patience for it, apparently.
I love a lot of layouts where I just used a square punch of circle punches and inked the edges of each shape, then used them to make the background, then layered everything else on top. While doing it, I thought it was so bland. Looking back, they look so good.
So, tell me about what you love that you've done on your layouts?

I actually like that mine are not themey, or at least very low key themes.
I love that I have started layering more, although I also love some of my older LO's that were almost stricktly cardstock, and super simple.
I also love using patterned backgrounds.

I buy a lot of paper. When I look at most pages, I can remember buying the paper. I can also remember making many of the layouts and that brings back fun memories.

I love flipping through my scrapbook and seeing variety. Some are double page layouts, some single, some pocket page. Some are themed, some are not, some have a shit ton of glitter, some are plain cardstock. The pages with bright colors and some theme to them seem to be my most favorite though.

My pages vary so much, and I love that. Life varies. Single pages, double pages, plain pages, decorative pages.

I have been through most of my albums looking for pages featuring my oldest dgs. I love looking at all the different techniques and supplies I have tried over the years. But I love that every 2 page spread tells a STORY! With photos and colours and journaling and texture and page design.
Dd was flipping through some of the albums I have out with her little guy over the weekend, and I loved seeing the joy the pages brought them.

Dd was flipping through some of the albums I have out with her little guy over the weekend, and I loved seeing the joy the pages brought them. That's the best! When I got my albums out of the attic the other day, my 3 yr old was asking to see pics of when he was a baby. So I was showing him, and he was all like, "And that's me?" me: "Yup." ds: "And that's me?" me: "Sure is." ds: "That's me?" me: (still looking at the same layout with five pics on it) "It's you, honey." But he was happy to see pics of himself when he was just first born and a tiny little potato.

I love all of it! Seeing old photos, reliving memories, the journaling that helps me relive the moment, and also just the supplies I used. I love all of my scrapbooks!

I love that through my theme scrapping I have told the stories of my photos and memories. My boys' baby books make me so happy. I redid the pictures I had scrapped early on and finished the rest of them and when I look at how I was able to reflect what was going on with them with my paper and stickers and embellishments it just makes me so happy.
Even though my style changed a bit to what it is now I still feel that I was able to use my theme product available to me then and tell my stories.

I like that I used solid backgrounds. I like that I journaled a lot.
I miss how easy it was to scrap with film photos. Grab that packet from Target and just scrap.

I love the stories my pages tell...but after that, I love to see that while I have evolved as a scrapper, it is clear that from the very beginning I loved to try new trends and products. I didn't always LOVE them but I did always TRY them!

I love flipping through and seeing the photos from the professional to the good for me to the out-of-focus to the blurry action shots. I love the story the albums tell. I love that most of my pages are not theme-y. I love the variety also like chaosisapony - I have double, single, pocket, plus 8.5x11 & 8x8's. Some are heavily embellished, some are not. Some of the pages I love the most have meaningful journaling on them and some are just those special photos of my babies as babies or littles that transport me to that time again. I also love when my children look through the albums and enjoy them.

That I've always used a lot of photos in layouts, also that in a lot of layouts I've included physical memorabilia like ticket stubs, invitations, pressed pennies, event wristbands, etc...

I was just just thinking about this and my favorite layouts are one that have journaling that jogs more specific information than just the photo captured. I'm totally guilty of journaling the bare minimum, but I just came across a layout that I included all the nicknames we called my daughter at the time. I remembered some, but not all.
I also like the layouts that I was more selective about the photos and edited out the not so clear or repetitive pics.

I love the themy borders I used to make with the small Creative Memories stickers that came in a little clear soft plastic case. I would use them with border design rulers. I would stick the little stickers that matched the theme all along the drawn border so, for example, if it was a beach theme, I would stick little starfish and seashells along the ruler-guided, hand-drawn waves border around the entire page.
I was looking at those pages the other day and they made me smile. Sometimes I would cut out trees to go with the nature theme in the pictures or glue down a die-cut of a bear where there were camping pictures and I would be so happy with it. I still remember how happy I felt when I made those pages.

I've found that I always look at the photos first and then look at the rest of the page. I usually like inked edges, matted photos, and some type of diecut. Halloween pages are my favorite. I do the most embellishing on those. I like using a variety of colored card stock for backgrounds, photo mats, and diecuts. I enjoy doing birthday pages because I doubt my kids will ever have their own albums; at least there is that.
I'm happy I changed the family albums to 12x12 divided sheet protectors. I'm slightly better at telling stories this way.

Funny that I just read this today because my coworker brought her album to work yesterday to show me and she had those types of borders all through her pages (hers were mainly just going down one side of the page). I know that is not the "in" thing now but I thought it looked really nice and I feel inspired to make some borders now too.

I like looking back on scrapbook pages, and seeing the photos and reading about what was happening at the time. Things that might have not been too good, like DD being injured and having an ice pack on her head at the time, are fun to look back on. I like seeing what I used at the time. My first layouts used those zig zag scissors and apparently I liked to cut everything out, even the pictures have those edges. Then, I can see when I got my big red lever controlled Sizzix machine, to my Cricut, and Cameo. I like seeing all of the memories preserved and all of the things that were used on the pages. I always like to add themed items and still do.
