I was thinking this other day. Do your go to scrapping colors or color schemes change with the seasons?
Do you find yourself using more spring themed colors now and as we switch to summer in the northern hemisphere going to brighter/bolder ones? Or does it not matter for seasons and just on what you are scrapping at the moment?
Do trendy colors play a part in what makes it onto your creations/pages?
What about the colors of the year?

I scrap by the season and have been accused of ignoring the colours in my photos in the process. I don't go as far as print photos in b&w to highlight my papers, but I do tend to be drawn to seasonal shades. Fortunately, fashion and paper manufacturers are usually on somewhat the same page for the trend of the year, so it usually works out.
In Spring, my colours are more pastel. Soft yellows and mint greens with some aqua and pink and purple mixed in. In summer, I scrap with grass green, and other brights: sky blue and bright yellow. I love fall colours--orange and copper and gold (both cs and metallic) and rich reds and browns. My winter pallet is more subdued: aqua and navy, white, silver. Christmas, of course, has its greens and reds and metallic gold.
All year--because I scrap about boys a lot--I use lots of masculine colours: brown, copper, kraft, black. Spiced up with some of their sporting teams' colours. And metallics.

I could easily be scrapping December pages in July, so I just get myself in the mood for whatever season is in my photos.
I've been scrapping a year at a time, so there's lots of seasonal variety on my craft table that I'm working on all at once.

I'm with msliz, I change with whatever season I am scrapping. Autumn is my favorite!

I change too. In my PL, as soon as the sun comes out I want to lighten up and grab a few more colours.

For me it completely depends on my photos.

While I do have some variation in terms of colour, there isn't a great difference between seasons. I think the current trends suit me well (aqua, mint, turquoise, soft yellow and lighter shades overall) and are present throughout the year.
However, I do play favourites with certain groups of colours: I prefer the brighter shades for spring and summer. And I keep the trendy greys and more toned colours for fall and winter because I really can't bring myself to use them for my colourful summer pictures. After all, they are full of Mediterranean blue (sky and sea), colourful fruit and veg and bright white sunlight.
It's really interesting to see brands like Crate Paper breaking the seasonal codes in terms of colour. Snow and Cocoa catered to the current colour trends and was a great success. It brings something different to the table which is always a positive.

I feel like I want to always scrap the next season. In winter I want to scrap spring products, colors and photos. In spring, I want to scrap summer, etc. I do almost all my Christmas scrapping in the fall. It may just be that that's when new products are released for the next season and I'm inspired.

For me it completely depends on my photos. I agree - probably 95% of the time, the colours I choose are photo-dependent. Every now and then, I'll have neutral colours in the photos and grab papers that fit the mood instead.

I choose my colors based upon the photo colors and the mood any time of the year.

my first inclination is to answer no. I probably did use more seasonal colors on my SB pages when I lived in Illinois and we had more seasonal color changes, but here in AZ it's always sunny and bright, so I'm more apt to use bright colors all year long.
Most of the time I use colors that coordinate with the colors, feel of the photos, or the place IN the photos, but not colors that strictly match the photos themselves (hopefully that makes sense). And I won't try to coordinate the papers to match what we're wearing in the photos, ever. If it's outdoors / desert photos, I usually use colors that coordinate with the colors of the desert instead of matching them exactly-- like if the photos are greens / oranges (desert) I'll usually use at least some blues in the papers, since blue coordinates with green and orange. But I don't always do that.
If I ignore the photo colors altogether when choosing the papers, then I will typically add in themed embellishments. Like right now I'm doing a layout with mourning dove photos- the colors I'm using are a mid-dark blue woodgrain, cream, and mint green patterned papers, and the colors in the photos are mainly just grays and taupes- so I think I'm going to add in some Silhouette-cut feathers. Or if I make a layout about our cats, who are white, gray/white, and orange/white, then I'll use whatever paper colors I want and add in cat-themed embellishments.
ETA: trendy colors or color combinations only make it onto my pages if the patterned paper I'm using happens to have trendy color combinations in it. But since I hoard paper and use my supplies no matter how old they might be, as long as they work for my layout, most trends don't really 'show up' on my pages, I don't think. (other than maybe silver or gold becoming popular... but I don't use them a ton, and when I do use them, I usually I only use them as embellishments or supporting colors.)

I tend to scrap by theme, if it fits. If not, I usually go with primary colors that are on the muted side like some of the Simple Stories lines or The Echo Park Boy lines. I have a hard time using bright papers.

I like neutrals (further evidenced by my wardrobe & home decor) & use them year round. The accent colors used with the neutrals usually vary due to the activity/event/occasion/moment, rather than the season.

just on what you are scrapping at the moment This. I try to either match the photo colors or the theme of the photos. So autumn photos may be scrapped with subdued oranges, yellows, and browns. Or I might use a teal patterned paper, but them use leaf stamps and pumpkin diecuts.

No for two reasons. Where I live we don't get the big seasonal changes in fact I have never been in or seen snow and we don't get the gorgeous fall colours on all the trees and then there is the fact that I scrap whatever I feel like at the time. I do scrapbook more outdoor/camping photos so I tend to use colours that compliment forestry and beaches more than anything.

No, I haven't noticed this. I theme scrap so I will use colors that go with the theme regardless of the season. I haven't noticed that I am more likely to scrap certain themes in certain seasons, but I guess when I am fairly current that happens. I do try to keep up with current photos so I can work on bigger projects of older photos, so like right now I am using more summer colors because my current pics are beach ones.
