Has this happened to you? About 3 times now I have printed out pics to scrap only to realize I have already scrapped them and recently I might add.. ._. I don't know how to keep track of what I have already done, so I can stop printing duplicate pics. Anyone else have this problem? Or am I losing my mind?

I've done it several times! I even used the EXACT same title (oh ho! I'm so clever! This pun will work perfectly for a title here...) when I duplicated a page last summer. In that case, I just kept both pages.
If possible, I change the photos, title and journaling so I'm not "wasting" a LO. But I have 2 definite doubles in my albums that I loved both and couldn't change.
Each time it's happened, I start keeping a list of LOs in a journal beside me (title/photo) so I can make sure this doesn't happen. But after 1 or 2 LOs, I forget to keep track.
I swear, my memory isn't that bad!

Sometimes I will go through my recent albums to refresh my memory, but it didn't help this time I wasn't happy with the page that I had done, so I will probably redo- but I was suprised when I came across it because I was like I totally don't remember scrapping this

I change the file name on the photos I have made a page with. If the photo has not been used, it is whatever number that it uploaded to my computer. Once I use it, I add an s to it. So 1234.jpg not scrapbooked and 1234s.jpg scrapbooked. I had to do something because I was doing the same thing!!!

Haha! Too funny! I only did this once and liked both pages so much I just put them side by side in the book. I am more likely to keep reprinting photos thinking I haven't printed them, even in the same photo order! I will have like 3 copies of the same photo.

I've always been a chronological scrapbooker and I never print duplicates so I don't recall ever scrapbooking photos twice.

I have gone so far as to create a layout and discovered it was a duplicate when placing it in my album. Argghhh!
I keep my photos in manila envelopes standing up in magazine holders. They are sorted by activity. For example, Christmas 2016, Terry's birthday, etc. There could be one or twenty photos in an envelope.
Then I list the envelopes in a notebook. I cross them out when I have scrapped the photos. This has kept me from printing them again.

I don't scrap chronological but I put them in albums that way. So I've gone to put a layout away and found a duplicate, and just put them in the album side by side. It's only happened twice...so far.

I do it, but on purpose. Some pics are worth it.

I've done this before when I was being really sloppy about printing. I've since learned that this is one of the reasons why I could never do my printing at home - batch printing through a photo developer at least keeps me aware of what has and hasn't been completed.
My duplicate pages are just thrown in an old pizza box for now. I'll deal with them when I have more albums and I'm ready, but I expect I'll just throw one of them away.

After having done this a few times, I now write a D on the back of the leftover photos so if I do go back over them, then I know I've already done these pictures. But, I have to add, I'm a person who prints out all my pictures, except the ones on my phone.

It's nice to know I am not the only one who has done this!

I have done it a couple of times. And sometimes I go ahead and do them anyway!

I have scrapbooked some of the same photos for my son's pages. I often make compelation pages and use 5 photos from 5 different events but then forget when I do one a few months later.

I made myself an excel spreadsheet. I put in rows for each grandkid and columns for the years. In each set of year columns I put a column for PrinTed - Ready to Scrap - In Book. The rows include categories like - Grandkid 1 - Birthday - Grandkid 1 - Sports and so on. Keeps me organized

Yes! I've done it with my son's baby book. I also scrapped my daughter's 5th and 6th birthday with the same pictures!

I do use some photos in more than one LO on purpose (for example on a calendar page and in an album, or in a baby book and in my regular album) so I often have printed duplicates of photos. I put my pages into albums pretty quickly, and if I am going back to scrap something from an earlier album, I often go back and leaf through it, just to get the vibe and where this page might fit in. So that means I am less likely to scrap the same event with the same photos.
And I sort my prints and put them with a list of possible titles which I check off when I have completed that series of pix, so that helps.
I have sometimes printed the same photo a second time, thinking I need to scrap it, then come home with the print to realize I already have that page done, or at least that photo already printed. My photos, like my supplies, play tricks on me: so I go to print a particular series of photos, but then can't find them all on my camera card or phone. Or I THINK I have printed them all only to come home and realize one is missing.

I organize my photos in folders by year, then by date and event. Within the 2017 file will be a folder labeled 2017-05 Anniversary. When I print photos from that folder I add an x in front of the year: x2017-05 Anniversary. That drops the file to the end of the list in my folder, keeping the un-scrapped photos at the top.

Has this happened to you? I scrapped a photo of my mother holding dd2 as a brand new infant twice. I kept both layouts, back to back in a page protector. The funny thing is, I scrapped them totally differently. The only thing the same is the photo itself. To avoid rescrapping things unintentionally, I print each month's photos every month. Usually print the previous month's pics on the first of the next month.

I keep an excel spreadsheet of layouts and try to put the date the photos were taken so I don't retell the same story. But this, I change the file name on the photos I have made a page with. If the photo has not been used, it is whatever number that it uploaded to my computer. Once I use it, I add an s to it. So 1234.jpg not scrapbooked and 1234s.jpg scrapbooked. I had to do something because I was doing the same thing!!! This is brilliant! I have to remember to do that when I'm printing photos. Although I don't mind using the same photo for different stories.

It doesn't happen often to me because of the way I print and store my photos...however I did scrap my last son's birth announcement twice! I just kept both layouts. One went in my pregnancy album and one went in his album.

Yes, but only when I've done it as a 12x12 and as a card in either PL, WITL, or December Daily. So, a long version of the story and a short version. And once by accident in a bound shutterfly book (free book, totally forgot I had ordered it).

I have done it and several times, sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. I figure it is all good in the end. Sometimes they have the same story written and sometimes now. I have two kids so I figure worst comes to worst they each get a page. In the grand scheme of things no biggie for me, I had fun and it made me happy to make the page(s) so no harm no foul lol!
