Still holding strong Me, too. I had a weak moment last night, but I shook it off and stayed strong. Note to self - do not ( I repeat DO NOT) look at store sites.

Okay I am ready to freeze for awhile. I got my order with the 50 pack of page protectors and now to fill them up! I went through my scrap stash last weekend and I officially have run out of space. I have an overabundance of scrap goodies that I want to start using up.

But, if I can make that my only purchase until the expo in July, I'll be doing great!

I personally don't think it would be better to pay more for something you'll actually use than to break your freeze. The point is to be thoughtful about purchases!

That's the thing about freezes- you gotta be ready to strike when a deal comes up! I personally don't think it would be better to pay more for something you'll actually use than to break your freeze. The point is to be thoughtful about purchases! That's why I can't do the freeze thing. The idea of having to NOT do something makes me want to do the opposite. I haven't had alcohol since my oldest was something like 6 months or a year (can't remember for sure) and never really think about it...but when I got pregnant with my 2nd and 3rd child, all I could think about was 'omg, I can't drink'. I'm a nail biter and when I say I'm going to quit doing it, it's all I can think about. So, to commit to not shopping would mean I'd be constantly itching to shop. Instead, I just try and think a little harder about what I buy...which means debating it back and forth until it sells out and I regret missing out or I simply choose not to buy and am okay with it. I rarely even grab stuff at TM right off the shelf without walking around and debating it a bit first. It has helped a lot...my usual mentality is to buy it because 'what if I regret it later' and while I still feel that way about some things, the feeling usually passes.

That's why I can't do the freeze thing. The idea of having to NOT do something makes me want to do the opposite. I think the Frozen Peas who do well and thrive are those who don't experience it as deprivation. I think the first few weeks are the hardest, especially when you haven't successfully done a spending freeze before. I didn't buy anything besides scrap essentials when I ran out of them like photo paper and ink or adhesive for several months and was totally fine with it once the initial weeks were behind me. I don't not allow myself to buy (as a matter of fact, I likely will get a few pretty papers and an album when the summer sales begin at the end of the month), I just look at what I already have and don't feel the need or desire to add to the pile. I think this switch of mindset is accessible to quite a few and some people have surprised themselves when they reached the oh-actually-I-am-totally-fine-with-this-freeze-now stage. Not all, granted, but plenty still. It's not a scrap diet. It's not a "lifestyle change". Heck, it's not even a challenge for me. It's just a good reminder to take a step back (not fall in the trap of marketing emails and other enablers) and not continue to buy like it's an everyday habit as far as I'm concerned. And it trickles down to all my other expense categories too which is a great plus (for my bank account)!

We have such a consumerist society that constantly buying just becomes part of day to day life. I want to be more thoughtful about my purchases and not just purchase for the sake of it.

And it trickles down to all my other expense categories too which is a great plus (for my bank account)! I completely agree. I used to fanatically watch haul videos from my favorite channels and now I avoid them specifically. It was really hard in the beginning because I worried about what I was missing out on, but after a few weeks, it didn't bother me so much. I see the hauls from my favorite stores on social media in snippets rather than long videos where people are showing off entire new releases. That was what got me...someone excited about something made me want it, too. Without haul videos, my desire to shop just for the sake of shopping nosedived drastically, but I am so used to shopping because a good deal excites me that I haven't yet fully recognized what is a real desire for a product and what is a desire to own it because it's a bargain and everyone else has it. That's why I second guess myself a million and one times before committing to an order just about anywhere. I only find out I really wanted that specific item when it sells out or I miss the end of the sale and I can't get that product off of my mind and kick myself for days for having missed out. I waffled so much on the Feed Your Craft sale and ended up causing the shop owner to generate a special code just for me as a result, so yesterday when I saw the Gossamer Blue sale, I gave myself until the end of the day to make up my mind and finally committed. I'm glad that I did. My logic for it is that I've been really struggling to stash dive for my project life layouts and I reach for Elle's Studio stuff so frequently that it's starting to become way too dominant (the ones without her product stick out like a sore thumb to me and I would rather it be a good mixture of things, not heavily leaning in one specific company's direction). At least with a GB kit, I can get a week out of it without having to spend an hour pulling supplies AND the style varies from month to month, so it doesn't scream 'this is all from GB' when I look at my album. The planner kit along with it allows me extra embellishments and the opportunity to add more cards by cutting down the papers. It was a logical purchase. But it still took me 8+ hours to commit to that decision.

I was just thinking that it's time for another freeze for me. I will order the Pink Paislee Summer Lights thickers and embellishments but nothing other than that for at least the month of June. Likely July as well. I did pretty well in January and February, I think I can do it again. I'm in! I ordered these today so I am DONE for at least a month. I can do this!

They haven't been stocking new stuff for so long (unless they carry it in stores, too) that I figure they intended to have the oxides in stores but didn't because of the backorder status on them. I think it would be nice to see them get the next batch. I nabbed them because of a few techniques I've seen using them. I tend to use technique based tools for fun rather than with an end result in mind...so here's hoping that I use whatever I make with the oxides...not that just having fun playing is a bad thing. $29 for 8 colors didn't seem like too bad of a price.

I did go to HL last night and picked up a couple of sheets of paper and a sticker sheet - total with tax $2.15...but I have photos sitting on my desk ready to scrap that I couldn't find ANYthing in my stash to work with so it was a deliberate purchase and will be used this weekend.

I'm still frozen.
Almost bought a pack of white cardstock, but put it back. I'll wait.
I need to buy printer ink, but I don't want to (hear the whiny voice??)
I started working on a political/current events type of layout. I am using a divided WRMK 8.5x11" page protector. I cut "cards" from two 6x6" paper pads I had on my desk.
So far, I've used letter stickers to write "In The News" and a stamp set to write "currently:"
And I stamped a globe stamp and used a scalloped circle paper punch to make an embellishment.
And okay, I'm not even sure if I should admit this or if you all will laugh me off this board.
Remember when we used to use paint chip cards from Lowe's or Home Depot for crafts?
I was in WM and saw the perfect navy paint chip color for a layout I was working on. I took one, plus a silver/gray tone one, to paper punch out flowers for a layout that I'm working on.

I got an email from Waffle Flower with a code for the new shop. Went and spent a few minutes looking at stamps but didn't put anything in my cart and closed the website because I.dont.need.anything.
Trying to stay strong because I have so many other (boring) expenses in the next couple of months.
