cbscrapper Could you tell me more about this special hold for the fuse tool? It has arrived and I'd like to fuse my page protectors tonight. Do you mean I ought to hold it either vertically or horizontally to the table surface, not angled like everyone seems to do on YouTube? How much pressure do you apply? How long does your fuse tool heat up for (Adele from Inkie Quill said she needs to go up to 30 minutes at least)? Fuse tool tips welcome from anyone! I have space limitations that make me get rid of stuff and scraps much faster than most so I don't have a lot of throw-away page protectors to practice on, especially from WRMK. Would love to get as much knowledge as possible before I make my first sketchy attempt.

Night Owl Get your buttocks back in here, lady! You lil thrill seeker suddenly looking left and right for some scrap spending temptation... I have fused my first batch of page protectors for my 6x12 PL album. This was a lot easier than I thought? I didn't even mess up on my very first attempt. Go figure... Thanks for the tip regarding how to hold it, cbscrapper. I think that's what made the wheel turn so smoothly straight away. As predicted, now I'm annoyed that I had to spend all this money on a tool that I'll almost exclusively use for page protectors. Le sigh. I'm giving the unexplored a go to use up some of my older PL cards. I cut one up that now just reads "ONLINE" and will be using it for a spread about everything Internet-y right now in my life. The series I'm following on Amazon Prime at the moment, my favourite podcast of late, the Google doodle for the summer solstice that was released today, a couple of IG posts from friends, a screenshot of an invitation I received by email recently, a Snapchat selfie with my mother, etc. I wouldn't have even thought of doing this spread were it not for not spending (ya know, besides that darn fuse tool ) and digging up some older stuff. I love how a freeze can spark the imagination and creativity!

I really do think that mat makes a huge difference. One other tip - When I use the tool to fuse loose photos in their pockets so they don't slip out (especially the vertical 4x6 configuration), I usually just fuse about 1/2" shut in the middle vs closing the entire pocket like I would for a shaker pocket or small item. If I think of anything else, I'll share, but the mat and holding angle are my biggest tips.

I was trying to be good but I'm done. I subbed to GB scrapbook and L.P. kits, bought a couple add ons for my AE subs, picked up a distress oxide ink to try (big heart eyes for That!), pre ordered the new stamp from Shimelle, ordered 2 stamps from AE and just hit the buy button for a new Epson PM400. Yikes! Back into the cooler for me! Well if you are going to jump, you may as well be doing it for a good haul like that one!

I was good this weekend. I went to the Petsmart to pick up dog food, and I did not even look in the direction of Tuesday Morning.
Today I almost stopped at Hobby Lobby on my way home, but reminded myself I was frozen. Oh well, just 9 more days!.

It's the 24th and I'm holding strong (well since my little fall off the wagon two weeks ago.) I almost caved a couple of times especially with everyone raving about the Tonic / TH stamp positioner.

I have done surprisingly well this month. I'm eyeing up an Elle's Studio stamp set that I may step out of the freezer in July for but I'm mostly getting motivated by completing pages and using some very old things from my stash.

I'm not on an official freeze, but I am trying to watch myself. Just went to JoAnns and Hobby Lobby and bought nothing. I was looking for punches or anything really, but nothing really grabbed my attention.

I ended up getting 3 new sets of thickers at TM and Michael's this week. After organizing my room I realized that I don't have that many thickers and I sort of panicked LOL. In my mind I had a whole bunch, especially in intact kits, but I really didn't once I separated the kits. I'm going to allow myself thickers this summer, especially if on sale, because for some reason I think it's the one thing I'm actually under-stocked on.

You know, that's probably the one thing I have the least of. I never wanted to buy them because oh I have the Cameo, I should cut titles instead of buying them. But lately, I have really been wishing I had more thickers.

I haven't bought anything since the SS warehouse box( that was expensive). I have a $10 dollar gift card for scrapbook.com but I haven't used it yet because I know I will go over $10, and I'm not sure what I want yet.

I've only spent $3 this month on scrappy stuff, which is really good.
I'm now on an official freeze because I'm out of work.
But.... I have a $25 gift card for A C Moore coming to me from the survey site I use. I can't wait!! I don't even know what I want yet.

Still holding strong. Besides my subs (which I've cancelled starting next month), this month I've spent less than $2, and it feels good. I did register for the SB Expo coming up, but I don't count that since the main reason for my freeze is to reduce the amount of product coming into my scrap space and use my stash. I am tempted by the current SC sales and may pick up a few digitals and a class or two, but plan to keep it under $30, if I get anything.
Keep at it peas - we're almost to July!

I've got my SB grocery list already thought out and penned down for the summer: - 2 past Messy Boxes of my choice when they go on sale and are not sold as mystery kits - 2 6X12 faux leather WRMK albums if the vendor drops the price down to 11€ (about US$12.3) like they did during the winter sales back in January - Spellcast by Pink Paislee (all but two papers and the ephemera pack) - a couple of papers from Summer Lights by Pink Paislee - adhesive, again (am I the only who feels like they're going through adhesive like crazy lately?)
That'll be it for me when I unfreeze. As soon as Spellcast hits our shores, I'll be hopping back into the freezer for a bit.
Anyone else got a detailed action plan in place and ready to go back to no-spend for a bit before the madness of Christmas and December collections/DD kits hits us?

I caved and placed an order on ACOT...hanging head in shame. So, what did you order? I could not resist Simple Stories floral and wood/gingham paper pads. They are kind of B sides, which I know from the other thread many of us like. I also bought some of Photoplay's Mad 4 Plaid Christmas line. Finally, I bought Carta Bella's Autumn collection kit.

How was the quality, since it's 180 sheets? I know the papers will be thin but don't want "almost see through" thin. Do you recommend it?? Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing the quality is similar to the SS paper pads they have at Hobby Lobby. I think that quality is fine - I wouldn't use it as the base for my page, but it's thick enough to cut well in a trimmer and with an electronic die-cut machine (super thin paper always seems to shred or wrinkle in those cases for me).

Well I have been behaving myself for the last 4 days.
Two more days! I am not going to be looking for stuff to buy, but I am excited it is a holiday weekend (sort of). Well it is for me, I took Monday off!

It's almost over. I promised myself a trip to the rubber stamp convention next month. I wanted to to check out some specialty papers as well as hit the Tim Holtz booth. Well I found out from a friend who's on their email list that their already small vendor list has gotten even tinier. I checked their site to see if it was worth the trip and no list-- they still have the March one up. Hmmm I may end up doing what I did when the scrapbook expo came to town and just buy a few things on line. The amount I'd spend on admission and gas will cover shipping. Well, off to 'window' shop.

SINNER ALERT! SINNER ALERT! Open the confessional... I had said earlier in this thread that I was planning on a scrappy purchase when the summer sales would kick off. Well, they did. Yesterday was the first official day. I kept clicking on the website that still had a few WRMK faux leather 6x12 albums (still my favourite PL format ever) but they hadn't marked those albums down. Went to check again this morning and they were 9€ each. US$10 per album! Oh joy. So, of course, I bought up the remaining stock. Five of them are headed my way. I better not start disliking this format anytime soon... I didn't buy anything else though. I skipped all the pretty pattern papers and embellishments 50% off. I just focused on my basic needs and made sure they were met. For a few years to come. I feel like I'm some crazy scrap squirrel stashing albums away left and right to make it through the next (few) winter(s). I can't believe I managed to stock up on faux leather 6x12. They have become extremely rare finds. All smiles. This had been my plan for months.

Who is still in? I did good after my little spree on the 9th. I may go until July 9th just so I can say I did a month spend free. 😊 But with all the Independence Day sales it will be hard.
