Good morning everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has this printer and likes it. I previously used the Instax camera but the pictures never came out good. I want to know if the quality is good enough for us scrapbookers or if I would be let down with it?
Thanks for any input.
I have seen the Tuesday Morning has the one from the plane catalog- anyone have that one feel free to comment.

I've seen people using it on Instagram - I want to say they're mostly Traveler's Notebook people. I think Kelly Purkey also has one. You might be able to find some examples on IG and maybe ask people there. I'm not sure if any of KP's videos include her using the printer, but I think they might.
I think (from what I've seen on IG) that the quality is better than using the camera because you can take a good sharp picture with your phone and edit it before you print, so there's more control. Exposure on Instax cameras seem to be pretty bad or at least hit or miss.
ronnycakes on Instagram is one person I follow who uses the SP-2 for her TN and her photos seem to be sharp and good quality.

I have the first instax printer. The pictures are typically soft and a bit washed out as all polaroids are. I use them for something a little different in my PL.

I have that printer and only use it for my TN when I am travelling. The pictures are just too small and expensive for anything other than a travel album for me. I do love how I can edit the pictures first, but they are still just a tad bit washed out (nothing anywhere near as bad as pictures taken on the instax camera; nowhere near as good as my Canon all-in-one). I love the convenience of it when I am travelling--good battery life, compact size, and wireless printing. Its fun but was definitely a splurge and still a splurge whenever I use it due to cost of film. If you are in the US, I found the best price at bhphotovideo.com. Kelly Purkey did a great review of it on youtube and Amy Tan compares it to a few other printers on her video. Costco now carries the film but I get it for cheaper (tax-free) from BHphotovideo.

I have the sp-2. I've had 2 other instax cameras before this and my main reason for getting the printer is to be able to edit and control the quality of the prints. I was getting too many duds from the cameras. For the cost of the film, this printer makes more sense for me. I originally wanted the sp-1, but kept waiting, then when sp-2 came out, I waited and read a few reviews before deciding it was worth getting. I think I watched Kelly Purkey's video review. I like the reprint feature. I've taken it while traveling for traveler's notebooks and mini albums. I also use the prints on regular layouts. I take it to crops in case I forget a photo or want to quick print something from my phone. I use it for printing things for gifts, parties, favors, etc. I have even used it to make prints for labeling things (shoe boxes, etc). It was also a hit at a recent party where I could quickly reprint a group photo 5 times to give to everyone right there before leaving. The film is a little expensive and if I am home I will try to just print smaller prints on my Canon photo printer. I have searched and waited for film deals on amazon and groupon. I have noticed Joanns and Michaels do have sales on it as well. I purchased some of the different types of film, like the neon colors to use with vaca photos and the black border goes really good with black and white photos. But you sort of have to plan out what you are going to print because you can't switch cartridges until all sheets are used. In this post I share a layout using an instax print from the printer: www.thepapergoddess.com/scrapbook-layout-share/Here you can see instax prints used in traveler's notebook: www.thepapergoddess.com/travelers-notebook-with-fujifilm-instax-share-sp-2-smartphone-printer/I generally always edit with PicTapGo, and generally always lighten & bump contrast on everything before printing. Making it a little lighter than you would think seems to give a good print.
