Interesting take by Chris Matthews : link"Liberal MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Thursday the accusation that President Trump directly colluded with Russia to interfere in the U.S. election "came apart" following former FBI Director James Comey's testimony in front of Congress."

Guys, it's really hard for John McCain to defend the guy that called him a loser for being a POW. He's doing his best, like his party asked of him. let's give him a break.

Senator: Thank you for coming as a private citizen and giving us your time to be in a senate intelligence hearing. Comey: I'm between gigs right now. I literally laughter out loud at that. He's quite witty. SaveSave

Senator McCain made absolutely no sense. How could he not understand that one investigation is complete and the other still unfinished. What a stupid line of questioning. I just finished watching this segment . In my opinion he wasted everyone's time whilst he pursued his personal mission against Clinton . The face of the lady behind him - the way her eyes widened at the start of his final rant against Clinton !

Funniest shit from his camp--
"At the White House, deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders pushed back on the idea that Trump was a liar. "I can definitely say the President is not a liar, and I think it's frankly insulting that question would be asked," she said, pushing back on Comey's testimony that he was worried the President would not tell the truth about their meetings."
Hahahahaha!!!!!
She actually said Trump is not a liar!!!

Since this is going to be a "he said, he said," let's take a moment to re-read the statement Sen Burr put out after Comey was fired! 05.09.17 Statement from Senate Intel Chairman Burr on the Dismissal of FBI Director Comey WASHINGTON – Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) today made the following statement on the dismissal of James Comey, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation: “I am troubled by the timing and reasoning of Director Comey’s termination. I have found Director Comey to be a public servant of the highest order, and his dismissal further confuses an already difficult investigation by the Committee. In my interactions with the Director and with the Bureau under his leadership, he and the FBI have always been straightforward with our Committee. Director Comey has been more forthcoming with information than any FBI Director I can recall in my tenure on the congressional intelligence committees. His dismissal, I believe, is a loss for the Bureau and the nation.”

45 is so unqualified and over his skies that even IF he didn't talk to Russians directly, there is too much other stuff that he did- and considered "normal" in previous life- since then that can and should get him "in trouble" -to put it simply.
I still have trouble how some of GOP just want to defend.defend.defend. just because he is on their side. Jokes on them- 45 is on no other side than himself. Period.

I think this indicates that no matter who won the election, we'd still be watching hours of Congressional testimony. I also think that this shows that Comey gives no quarter to either side. Whatever his actions, he tries to hew closely to what he thinks is the ethical, legal thing to do which lends to his credibility. Maybe the DOJ wasn't ethical in the email investigation but at this point it no longer matters and I'm tired of the constant deflection to it by the Republicans. If Hillary had won it would be important but it's time to focus on the Russia investigations and either clear or indict the Trump campaign.

I was impressed by his honesty and his credibility.
I loved when he said "I hope that Trump taped me. I hope he taped our conversations" Release the tapes. Go ahead.
It shows he knows the complete truth in what he is saying. If there are tapes, I'm sure Trump has had them destroyed by now. Wouldn't put it passed him.

That wasn't my take at all. Comey wasn't giving opinions; he was giving facts. He admits that he laid the ground for Mueller. Telling to me, at least was his refusal to say in public whether Trump colluded with Russians. . Ah well, each to their own.

I was pointing out the absolute irony in the White House insisting Trump is the honest one, when GOP Sen Burr and the chair of the committee questioning Comey today has already stated his belief in Comey's integrity. I don't understand what is wrong with me quoting your quote of the WH statement?

But the fact that Trump didn't try to stop the Russia investigation doesn't mean anything. And really- just because Comey testified that Trump asked him on separate occasions 'am I being investigated' and he answered truthfully AT THOSE TIMES that the answer to that question was NO (AT THAT TIME) doesn't mean SQUAT, now. Trump wasn't being investigated RIGHT when he asked Comey the question-- that doesn't mean he isn't NOW. The whole gist of that article is meaningless, in my opinion.

'I hope you drop the thing with Flynn' is the obstruction of justice claim, I think. I have much catching up to do (I was at work today and was unable to follow) But didn't Comey say the following "“Not to my understanding, no," Comey testified, when asked by Burr whether Trump tried to get him to end the investigation. He also said he could not say whether Trump's conversations with him amounted to obstruction of justice." It seems (and I very well could be wrong, for sure) but regardless of the words Trump used when discussing Flynn with Comey, isn't the feeling that COmey had...meaning the fact that he testified "Not to my understanding, no" means that he didn't believe Trump was trying to impede with the investigation. Again...much too much to catch up on

And even if HE is not the main focus of his own investigation, you know if they're looking into his campaign he IS going to be involved. So my money is on him being up to his fat ass in it now. Two things that BLOW my mind:
1.) Without a shred of doubt, the Russians interfered with our election in a big way. A foreign, hostile country at that. The fact that Trump has said squat about it and all but ignored it, is a BIGLY red flag!!!! He is all amped up on terrorism and keeping out the Muslims, yet he does not say a peep about what the Russians have done thus far
2.) Republicans are throwing the book at Comey's character and/or second guessing the decisions he made. YET, not one has copped to the sheer inappropriateness of Trump asking him to let the investigation go.
W.T.F.!!!!

'I hope you drop the thing with Flynn' is the obstruction of justice claim, I think. I think Comey (being questioned by Senator Risch) said President Trump did not order me to let the investigation of Flynn go. He also agreed that "I hope" has never gotten anyone charged for anything.
