I'm crocheting a blanket for my cousin whose style is very modern. She's not into pastels or cutesy kind of baby things. I'm trying to figure out what colors to use.

Grey and/or navy blue combined with colours such as apple green, sage green, denim, orange, deep aqua, vanilla and reds are popular here now (with fuchsia and dusky pink added to the list for girls) with new Mums for crochet baby blankets

Search on Etsy or Pinterest for Moda quilt fabric and look at their color combos. That should give you a ton of options.

I don't know if these colors would be considered modern or not but I thought I would share them anyway. I've used dark teal, aqua, grey and brown. I've also used red, yellow, brownish/grey, lime green and blue.

I like the trend of brown with blue or pink dots.

I was at a baby shower yesterday for a baby boy and saw a lot of gray, brown, green & orange mixed with a lighter blue.
