Does anyone have a super inexpensive sewing machine that is great for a basic stitch, JUST for scrapping?
I have a very nice sewing machine for actual fabric sewing, but it's across the country with my parents, and I have no idea when I'll get it back since it weighs a ton. It's been years.
In the meanwhile, I'd like to be able to stitch on my layouts but I don't want or need a sewing machine with anything more than a running stitch and white bobbin.
Any suggestions? any mini sewing machines that aren't total garbage?

I usually buy whatever walmart has for around $50 during BF. I've gotten 2 (the 1st my kids messed with when it wasn't in use and I blame them for its demise l...2nd one I got last year was the same price but has more stitch options...both are brother).

I use a Janome sew mini (i got mine on amazon for about $70, but you'll have to check what they're going for now). I use it only for scrapping. It is tiny, does a few different stitches, easy to thread, I love it! I use it all the time. It was an excellent investment for me!

I had a Kenmore Mini Ultra and I loved it so much. It had a few basic stitches and I never had a problem with it until my husband wanted me to hem some heavy duty work pants. Up until that point I sewed on countless layouts, made several baby quilts, little girl sewing projects, and hemmed jeans. I'd love to find another one but they're hard to find these days.

The last time I looked, Bed Bath & Beyond sold the the Janome Sew Mini. You could probably use their coupon.

I sew on paper a lot. I'd use the money budgeted for a cheapy, small machine and put it towards a decent, regular size, used machine. some smaller machines just aren't very stable and you may wind up wrinkling your paper while trying to steady a smaller, cheap, lightweight machine. That's my 2 cents.

Great series of videos on YT on how to thread it etc.
