LOL "don't you dare move and mess up your hair and clothes because I need you to pose with one of the products I am shilling but make it look like you're carefree and this is just the effortless way we live". Exactly!

Some day in the next 10 years or so, a lot of these perfectly-turned-out-little-kids are going to grow up. And realize that a good many of their "childhood photos" were really shilling for products and posing for ads. And write a tell-all.

I unfollowed her a long time ago, but i went back to check the blog. Gosh those posts are weird! It's like in one breath she's talking about 'making memories' with her children and then literally the next sentence is the random sponsors she's thanking. The best 'influencers" are much more seamless than that. Those children are going to have ISSUES.

Here I go again with one of my "I was completely" clueless posts. I didn't know Dear Lizzy was a person, lol. I thought it was another AC line. I have always liked the line. She is a pretty girl. I love that purse!!!!! I recently got asked to do this "perfect life" thing for gaming. I won't do it, even though I could make some great money from it. That is a road that will take you down to always bad self-esteem. When the fad passes or there is the changing of the guard what do these girls have? They need more of it. Look at the Kardashians. I know I tease about the Kardashians all the time. I actually like the girls. They always need the limelight to feel good about themselves and they even know it is destroying them. I agree those kids are going to slap her down one day for this. It is ok for her to sell herself. Leave the kids out of it.

So, Night Owl, let's talk about why if you're on a spending freeze, you're looking at the new lines? It's a sickness I tell you! I think you're in good company on this board!

Good one @zingermack. I still want the red tote bag!
What happens to these mommy bloggers when their kids leave the nest, and the moms age?

You sound like you've got your head on straight about it. Wouldn't it be okay to do it, knowing it was temporary, and earn a little income? It might be possible to do it and not sell your soul. Cathy Zielskie had managed to stay level headed, and continue with aging children. She's shown she is smart, and traded on that as opposed to more superficial traits from the beginning. I am not amused by her bee dance, but what's a little shallowness? The authors are allowed to be happy with their pursuits too.

What happens to these mommy bloggers when their kids leave the nest, and the moms age? Same thing that happens to aging strippers. They become realtors.

Wouldn't it be okay to do it, knowing it was temporary, and earn a little income? It might be possible to do it and not sell your soul. I have modeled. I have shown the perfect life in modeling shoots. I also was responsible with it too. No, this would be permanent because I have a very long gaming resume. I want to be a good role model for women, especially younger women. Gaming industry can be notoriously hard and sexist for girl gamers. I want to see more girl gamers in the gaming industry. I want them to feel empowered and not feel like they have to be a beauty queen to get respect. I had to play the beauty queen back in the day to get respect. I will tell you it did not feel good then but I persevered. That was how it was back then & I want to see it change. It is slowly changing. Now, if we can get the girl gaming pics off Pinterest with the girls doing duck lips, lol. I do want girl gamers to feel sexy. I want them to feel sexy and empowered. That is where us women rule the world. I hope that makes sense. I have one of my migraines tonight.

I am not sure either wants to get it in to the industry but they both do sure enjoy playing. My youngest (15) thinks it is the best thing ever when the young men she is playing with realize that they just lost to a girl. I have noticed less and less surprise at it over the last 2 years. Which I take as a good thing. Sorry for the hijack.

@amayalylac i understand and appreciate it! When I started school for my profession it was approximately 8% female in the US. It's taken decades and is now more like 40%
There were two teen competitive female gamers in neighborhood, 10-12 years ago. Now I understand why they dressed like little bling rock stars- or groupies. The males in photos with them were almost always low key., plain. I didn't realize there was a bigger reason than their personalities, they were sisters and always cute.

I know this is not fair, but I secretly judge all of the LDS mom bloggers like Dear Lizzy. I know taking care of a family is a huge responsibility, but for the working moms out there (not that I am one, but I will be in the future), life is a lot tougher, I have to say. Please please please note she is *not* the typical LDS mom. I am no longer an active member, but when I look at her instagram and most LDS people in the industry, it's like I'm living in some other universe. The members of the church who are truly active members are dwindling drastically right now. There are some spots in Utah where you *might* see some of this... what is it called? Curated life? Believe me, they aren't fooling anybody if they are trying to live up to the image they are portraying online.

I have no doubt they don't represent regular LDS moms.

It seems like the LDS mom bloggers are all very similar though! I have no doubt they don't represent regular LDS moms. When I was an active member, I purposely avoided those types of blogs. Blah! Who wants to constantly be comparing themselves to this online portrayal of being perfectly put together, skinny, perfect kids & husband, the ultimate DIY-er who makes it looks effortless? In general, I avoid people with blogs when they become big because there's also a whole lot of shilling going on too.

Good for Instagram for finally taking this step. I wonder how much this will affect the credibility of the influencers. I don't even look at Amy Tangerine any longer. It's just one big commercial for every product imaginable. I don't trust that she actually likes or uses anything she pushes any longer.
