I was just playing with my home made gelli plate and I learned the hard way NOT to use a paper towel to clean it off. I spent 1/2 an hour cleaning the lint off the plate!
So what is your advice to others of something you learned you should never do while creating?

Turn the TV on. It can be a show/movie I have seen a million times, and after an hour I find I have been watching the TV and didn't get a darn crafting thing done. Music only for me.

Make sure you screw the cap on tightly after using your mists to splatter on pages ._.

Order adhesive from Amazon and pick the "no rush shipping" which is usually just 5 or so days. I ordered it Saturday, it will be here July 4th (11 days), in the meantime I can't stick anything down. I might end up hitting the craft store and just buying adhesive without a coupon because I'm out and my mojo isn't.

Don't have the fan on when you're using glitter or embossing powder.

Don't have the fan on when you're using glitter or embossing powder. Sorry, but that one made me laugh! As a complete klutz, that is so something I would do.

Don't have the fan on when you're using glitter or embossing powder. I'll second that! I'm totally not going to admit to doing that more that once...or twice...🤐

Uncovered drinks. The last time I scrapped I risked it. I thought, "I never spill". I bumped the glass and it started to tip and then came back down and didn't spill a drop. I'd say I gasped but it was more like I sucked in all the air from the entire room.

Don't put adhesive on your photos without moving other photos out of the way because the adhesive does not come off the front of a photo and makes a mess.

Drop a heavy punch while you're barefoot, and along the same line of thought, do not throw the punch on the floor to get it unstuck.
The first resulted in a big bruise, the second a broken toe.
Steel toed boots people, it's the only way to scrap safe! 😊

Don't leave pens or other potential cat toys unattended. You may never see them again.
When using clear stamps make sure you put the ink on the correct side. I have several that are permanently black in the front. It doesn't hurt the stamp but it is a bit harder to line up.

Can you cancel the no rush order and place a new order with regular or quicker shipment?

Don't put adhesive on your photos without moving other photos out of the way because the adhesive does not come off the front of a photo and makes a mess. I've done that one. It really made me mad!

Don't leave an unlidded beverage on your craft desk!
Eat chocolate that has a candy coating to avoid instant chocolate fingers from fast melt.
Don't use original photos. Scan those babies first.

Bring my phone into my craft space.
Literally end up on Instagram and then 30 mins have gone by and I've done nothing! Phone now stays out of the room by the door.

Cheap Recollections cardstock + brand new sticky mat + intricate cut design + Silhouette = disaster.

Cheap Recollections cardstock + brand new sticky mat + intricate cut design + Silhouette = disaster. Done that, it's not pretty. I wanted to scream because it took forever to cut and even longer to pry off the mat, then clean said mat! Almost gave my Cameo away that day.

No drinks on the craft table.
There is no such thing as controlled splatter when flicking paint off a paint brush.
When hand quilting, I really DO need a thimble on my lower hand (sewed a quilt to my calloused finger once).
Don't try to knit around the cat.

I wanted to scream because it took forever to cut and even longer to pry off the mat, then clean said mat! Almost gave my Cameo away that day. I know that feeling. I ended up throwing out the mat after about 30 minutes of scraping and getting nowhere. I've refused to buy anything Recollections brand since then, no matter how good the sale.

Clean gunk under your fingernails with an X-acto knife. This never generally turns out well for either the knife nor the scrapbooker.

Cheap Recollections cardstock + brand new sticky mat + intricate cut design + Silhouette = disaster. OR use a new sticky mat and glitter paper - that mat was ruined could not get all the glitter off and that reduced the sticky. My worst mistake was using the craft room as the kitty room at night until she was able to be trusted loose in the house at night. This meant that EVERYTHING had to be put away every single night. Hated that. No pencil holders, no bottles out even with caps, everything had to be safe for her. Now, at 14 months, she has the whole house at night and does not mess with my craft stuff. Thank goodness. Save

Don't forget to cover your photo before you start splattering mist on the page. I have done this too many times.
