I'm thinking about asking for a Silhouette for Christmas. I have Cricut and a fair amount of cartridges. I do use it, but I don't use it much for fonts because I like to have the letters welded together or I just don't really love all of my font cartridges. I do use it for images, but I really don't want to buy any more cartridges. Has anyone made the switch to the Silhouette and regretted it or does everyone love it?

I had a Cricut create I used with a few cartridges and Sure Cuts a Lot and bought a Cameo last year. I just love the Cameo - seriously my best craft purchase ever. Just wish I'd done it sooner. The Silhouette Studio software is great and you can do so much with it. You can download the software for free and have a play around with it before you get a machine.
I don't think you'll regret the change!

I have a baby bug (I have a few carts I still like) and a Silhouette.
I like that I can resize on the Silhouette ANY size, not just by 1/4 of an inch, and decide where on the mat things cut. I'm often yelling at the Cricut because it won't cut something because it won't fit, when it will if the machine had a brain...
Also with the Silhouette if I want part of an image I don't have to cut all the pieces (in the wrong color) to get one piece.
The Silhouette cuts intricate stuff better than the Cricut.
You will love it.

I have the Cricut Expressions and SCAL 2. I also have a Silhouette Portrait with Sil Studio and SCAL 3. I use them both. The cartridges are so easy, but I think the Silhouette cuts better.
And I seem to use SCAL more than the Studio software because because I've been using it for so long and it's more familiar to me.
If Cricut ever dies it won't be replaced.

The Silhouette cuts intricate stuff better than the Cricut. I downloaded the fireworks die cut (Design ID #61981) from the Silhouette store. I copied it a couple of times and re-sized it. One is pretty small. I cut them out of a plastic folder I got at Staples and made my own stencil. If I tried that in Cricut, he would go on strike.

I have 2 circuits and one silhouette. I much refer the ease of the Silhouette. I also like the library where you can buy a TON of shapes for little money. If you get a subscription for just a year, you can build up a great library of just the stuff you want.

I love my Cameo and gave away the Cricut awhile back. Can't say enough about Silhouette School. You can google to get to the website. This taught me everything (and more) I needed to know. Her stuff is fabulous!
