This weekend I got a credit card offer in the mail in a really cool holographic envelope that is sized about right for a 4x6 photo mat so I'm totally going to use it accordingly! What odd items have you used in a LO!

Coasters, napkins, maps.... Though I don't know if we consider those weird.
Years and years ago, more than a decade, either Wisk or Tide had a "coupon" in either a newspaper or a magazine for "one free jump in the mud" or something like that.
I kept it and used it on a layout about my dd when she was playing at a playground with digger equipment toys.

Here is my list- I like adding different things to my pages. Spray paint that leaves a sand texture( a beach layout) Orange mesh(held small gourds) Crushed pennies(from machines on vacations) Wire egg Dipper(from coloring Easter eggs) Bottle caps (I look for them while vacationing and during Holidays, I used one from a Halloween beer and a Gettysburg's root beer bottle) Magnets or Patches( I like to use them on the covers of vacation albums or my pages)

Not sure if it is that weird, but I use a lot of packaging from scrappy supplies, either as matts, or diecut or punched into shapes.
I strip down the cardboard from scrappy pizza boxes to get corrugated texture for pages or cards.
I used real egg shells on an Easter page a couple of years ago: boiled the eggs, then pealed off the shells. Crunched them down into mid sized pieces. Glued them to cs with liquid glue and kind of levelled them. Then spritzed different sections of the cs with different Easter colours. When everything was dry, I diecut the cs into ovals, and coated each with liquid glue to seal. Also added a bit of glitter, I think. Anyway, I liked the way they turned out. Will have to see if I can find a pic to post.

I'm not sure if they are strange but I have used bottle caps, coasters, coke can tabs, aluminum foil, and jean pockets.

The red mesh bag that Babybel cheeses come in! I stapled it down as a background texture on a page about car racing for my brother.

Oh jeez, this comes with a backstory lol. Back in my early scrapping days I had a page laid out on my desk. My dd(then about 6) decided to help me scrapbook....She put a maxi pad paper wrapper on the page( it had flowers on it(yes unused) so I scrapped that page with her special touch . She is now 18 and once in a while I take out that page to show her , yep she is still embarrassed by it, but I find it hilarious

The fact that you can use it for years to embarrass her just adds extra bonus points!! Before we had much disposable income, I felt like everything was fair game to use and I used everything. I also did a fair amount of techniques to add interest to my pages since my stash was small. So I could just ditto most of the above except for the maxi pad wrapper and the egg shell technique by grammadee. Although that egg shell technique sounds cool and I would have done with directions.

My dad's cremains are pretty strange. They are in a memorabilia pocket not a shaker box or anything.
I have used the wire egg dipper on Easter egg dying pages Keys - house or car keys Jewelry - I take off the back crochet pieces, doilies, antimacassars that kind of thing seashells, coins, paper money, stamps, envelopes (with someone's handwriting on them)
Most of what I use is memorabilia related to whatever I am scrapping but one thing I use often is blank gift cards from stores and restaurants. I have the ones that say mom and dad for my mother's day/father's day pages. I have used birthday ones, graduation, and even ones with video games or whatever suits my needs.
I also regularly use the clear packaging that letters and embellishments come in and I make clear memorabilia pockets for cards, brochures and programs.

The only unusual things I've used were Williamsburg "coins," which seem pretty ordinary compared to what others are posing here.

The bandaid from a "heelstick" on my newborn daughter. Oh, and that white mesh stuff you use when you are sheetrocking/drywalling. Happened to be in my DH's shop one day and realized that it looked just like a volleyball net... so, put that on a layout of my daughter's vb team.

A little stump from my newborn's belly button. It fell off and I left it on her dresser. Eventually it was flat enough to put in a little plastic pouch and include on a layout. It's gross but I can't bear to take it off. Don't judge.

Mine aren't really strange compared to others - stamps, coasters, napkins, swizzle sticks, business cards, patches, burlap, cabin key cards (from cruises), and rocks (from the jewelry department).
