I am picking up the CM model second hand from a friend and wonder what I need to know about this. I'd love to cut out iron on designs or fabric. But of course I want to use it for scrapping too. Do I have to have the actual image I want printed out? I just don't understand how it works.

I have the original. I've only used it to either cut letters or scanned images. It's a great solution to fussy cutting. I'm sure it can do more but that's all I use it for. Julie Fei Fan Balzer has tutorials on You Tube. I recommend her for anyone trying to increase their knowledge on the scan n cut.
