I realized today I'm down to my last empty album About 4 years ago I stocked up at Tuesday Morning ... It was a good 4 years of not having to buy the stupid things (I'd rather spend my money on fun stuff), but it's coming to an end. Grrr. I also am low on page protectors. Sniff sniff. The good news is my album shelf, has space for 5 more albums, so I won't have to convince DH to build me something for another year or two Then I'm seriously going to have to decide if I want to keep making 12 by 12 albums or go down to a more easy to store size. It would need to be square when I tried scrapping 8.5 by 11 I hated the rectangle shape! I really hate buying albums! Maybe it's time Tuesday Morning starts selling them again... Crossing my fingers.

I find 12x12 just too big. I'm using SC's 9x12 size.

I feel your pain.
I currently am in need of empty albums, and I'm putting off buying albums.
Last time I bought albums was over a year ago, and I bought five 8.5x11" at ACM for $9.99 when they were on clearance.
I guess I'm just going to wait until I find a super sale with free shipping.
As to your dilemma of whether you want to stick with 12x12 or go smaller, would 8x8 be a large enough canvas to get your scrapping done on?
I work on both 8.5x11 and 12x12, but would feel very limited with 8x8 as my everyday album.

I find 12x12 just too big. I'm using SC's 9x12 size. It is, they get heavy when they are full, plus take up half the table when you are looking through them. I would totally get on board if 10 by 10 albums existed...

I've made 9 by 9 albums (bound with my Cinch) for December Daily (one 4 by 6 photo and a little blurb of journaling per page), 8 by 8 would be a challenge. I might need to invest in a magnifying glass and tweezers

I feel the exact same way as you do about buying the not fun albums and protectors. To the point of having a stack of layouts waiting till I find a good sale on WRMK albums. Although The recollections brand of the WRMK albums are nearly identical and I've started buying those when they have an amazing sale.
Right now I have one empty album, but need a specific album for my DS Air Force layouts. And in all honesty, my kids individual albums are ready for new one to be added to the set cause they are overflowing.
I Worried for a moment about the amount of albums I have and what would happen to them. But last week my Son came home on leave from the Air Force and was looking thru some of the books and we started talking about what would happen with them. I said you get yours when I'm dead, and he immediately began saying he wanted the disney ones and my other 2 kids chimed in saying what they wanted. I laughed and said they could fight over them when I was dead, not a moment sooner!!😉

Tuesday Morning has been getting the 12x12 albums from Echo Park. They aren't the faux leather ones and are patterned, but they are inexpensive ($8.99 IIRC) and easier to find than WRMK.

Once in a while you can find the WRMK at TM. Currently we have peach Echo Park albums at ours. I have a good 20+ albums that are empty. I usually use red and navy so I have stocked up on them.

You can totally scrap 8x8 and place the layout on an 8.5x11 paper in the album. Looks really nice!

I dislike spending money on page protectors and albums too. I like the idea of 10x10, but not BH brand. Although The recollections brand of the WRMK albums are nearly identical and I've started buying those when they have an amazing sale. This is good to know. I'll keep my eyes out for a sale to try them. I wonder about the umbrella line at sb.com too. They look fairly similar to WRMKs.

I've also just recently bought a faux leather album from hobby lobby under their paper studio brand and giving it a test drive to see how the compare to the we r ones. So far, so good! The only thing different about them is the bookplate!!
