Fun in the Sun by Doodlebug would be the perfect line. Also, if you don't need that much, Michaels has a really beautiful flamingo paper (1.99) that has pink, teal, and a shimmer gold. -the Enabler

You sooo need flamingo stuff. So many cute choices out there right now. You can always use the leftovers for other summer layouts.

You definitely do need the paper. I would get two just in case. Oh, and some stickers. A die. A stamp or two. To be safe, I think you should find a flamingo-heavy paper collection, and buy it all.

It's like you can read my mind, and the thought process that goes into every layout. Are you with us, grammadee?

grammadee your post reminded me I bought my sister this giant metal flamingo yard decoration. She and her husband bought a house that was almost foreclosed on (short sale). There was a lot of cosmetic work in and out that needed to be done. Her new neighbor, without permission came over and decided to do yard work for them! This was beyond mowing the lawn. His small front lawn looks like one of those estates with perfectly trimmed everything and even the lawn is cut a certain way. So I got her the flamingo to mock him every time he opens his front door. It's actually not bad looking. I told her to get some pink glitter spray paint at Michaels to "tacky it up". NOW I need some of that paper. I think the papers are cute, but I do not live anywhere tropical and don't travel.

And although my MO is more the one outlined by jameynz, I might be able to limit myself to a couple of those M's single sheets of pp 950nancy mentioned.

The flamingo line is 60% off at Michaels now - there's paper pads, stickers, die cuts, washi... The pretty $1.99 paper 950nancy mentioned is in the paper stacks so it's not part of the 60% sale, but still worth it. (I *may* have a couple sheets of it in my collection. )

As a theme-challenged scrapper, I would discourage you from buying flamingo themed paper or embellishments. Use neutrals or other papers already in your inventory, & let the inflated pink flamingo in the photo draw attention to your cute granddaughters. Happy scrapping!

I made a mini book that holds 120 photos. I used the entire line of Fun in the Sun. Flamingos are on many of the pages. We went to Punta Cana for 8 days. We'd been twice before and saw lots of flamingos. So here I have this great mini book and we saw not ONE flamingo. It was kind of the family joke that I needed to find a flamingo. The closest we got to a flamingo were the two parrots (and a monkey) out strolling with the photographer. I do love a theme, but this time it just didn't happen.

Your "care package" arrived today. That flamingo will definitely be finding a home on my page, and I LOVE the "stay cool" cuts as well: they are going into the envelope with the photo right now! I picked up a flamingo acetate sheet and a couple of variegated designs from M's, so I think I am good to go. Thanks again.
