I've got a photo I want to scrapbook. I took it at a comic con and it's Supernatural themed. Only trouble is I can't decide which paper is best with it. The color scheme will be very different depending on which one. So give me your opinion and share why you chose it. gettingscrapdone.com/?p=456gettingscrapdone.com/?p=457gettingscrapdone.com/?p=458I don't know why the images aren't showing up so I added links.

I chose large Symbols, because I felt the photo was more of the spotlight on it.

I don't like the blue compass - there's not enough contrast between it and the photo. Either of the others work

I like the splatters best but the large symbol is ok - just felt it competed a bit with the photo. Agree that the blue compass is too similar in colour to the photo - although you could separate it by using something else as 'mounts'.

I like the splatters but which ever you choose I think the photo def needs matting or some layers behind it to make it the focus

I don't like the blue compass - there's not enough contrast between it and the photo. Either of the others work I agree that you should rule out the blue. The red splatter paper reminds me of blood splatters. Does that fit your theme at all? If not, I'd go with the grey.

I like the splatters because I like the contrast between the brown and the photo.

The splatter looks like blood, which looks like it goes with the theme of the killing tools in the trunk. Photo needs mats to make it pop.

I found it hard to pick an option because: 1. the splatters made me think of Dexter 2. the large symbols looked very tribal to me (Aztec or from certain parts of Africa) 3. the compass paper was very repetitive in terms of colour scheme
I will say that I'm not afraid of using a paper with very similar tones to the ones in the photo as long as I create some contrast with matting and embellishing. So, contrary to the majority, I wouldn't rule that paper out straight away. Sorry for not being much help! Perhaps there's another paper in your stash that could work? Maybe something less themey?

I chose the splatters because of the tools in the trunk as well!

I chose the blue compass but with a caveat.... It needs to have some matting or scrapping of contrasting color(s) to offset the photo from the paper.

I like the blue compass, but agree with deekaye that it would need some matting between it and the photo. My second choice is the grey with the swirls. Whatever you choose, I am sure you will be able to tie photo and bg together--or separate them enough to make each support the other--with the other elements on the page.

I chose the red splatters because it picks up the little bits of red on the car

#1 because it pops more and seems most comic conny

I would choose none if it was an option, and being a theme scrapper none of those say supernatural to me. I chose the grey swirls because if I went way out on the twig of a limb I could see supernatural.

Honestly, I did not think any of the papers complimented the photo. They all seemed a distraction from the picture.

I agree that none of the papers are very complimentary.

I would maybe try to use a solid color paper but then use my Cameo to cut out something else Supernatural to add, like their tattoo? Even adding flames, but in muted colors, with "salt and burn" would maybe work for it? Just my opinion! OH! Or some Castiel type wings with the trunk centered? I could possibly talk Supernatural all day.

Honestly, I did not think any of the papers complimented the photo. They all seemed a distraction from the picture. I wonder if this is why I am struggling so much. With the exception of dog or Christmas pages, I tend not to be a themed scrapbooker. I think I'm hung up on trying to make a theme work. A new approach is in order.

As a die hard theme scrapper I would say that you are struggling because none of these fits a theme of supernatural. One is a paint spatter, one is Aztec symbols and one is the sea and a compass. I would choose something like this from Prima or something with wood or metal. This says supernatural to me and has a metal vibe.
