That's a LOT of stolen stuff. THOUSANDS. I find it ironic that they are so careful to be closed on Sundays and don't want to pay for BC for their employees - but stealing and lying are cool. Hobby Lobby to return stolen Iraqi artifacts

Apparently Hobby Lobby is only concerned with our reproductive rights, not with thievery. Hypocrisy at its finest.

What the heck?
Not once, when looking over the home decor at HL, did I ever consider that an item might be "real" or some sort of antique. Why would they start buying the real stuff? There's got to be more to this story.

Wow.
I know it is wrong to think this, but how manybof those artifacts would have been destroyed in the turmoil?
I mean, shame on HL.
(Fwiw I hate HL for so many other reasons)

I'm feeling like this article left out a lot of information. Not that I don't think it happened, but WHY?

I'm wondering "Why?!?" as well. What an incredibly odd story----at least to me.

Gee I know people cherry pick what to utilize from the Bible but normally everyone at least acknowledges the 10 commandments
That's some really selective cherry picking. And no I don't want to hear that they 'didn't know' they were warned and just figured they wouldn't get caught.

There's got to be more to this story. I think part of the story is left out. I assume they are religious artifacts bought for a personal collection and not stock for the stores.

Why am I not surprised? It's always the ones who scream the bible the loudest who end up being the worst offenders.

So much for being good Christians and operating biblically. I guess the Bible is only important to them when trying to limit access to birth control

Well one would think with such a passion for the Bible one could remember one of only 10 commandments. Like the first article said they were warned and chose to forge ahead without any responsible action to make any verification.

It isn't just about the questionable source of the artifacts, the items were intentionally mislabeled for import and sent to multiple destinations in the US. Hobby Lobby knew exactly what they were doing and which laws they were breaking. I do think it would have been hysterical if some well intentioned stock clerk opened the boxes sent to a store and immediately put them out on the floor.

Hey, Hobby Lobby, it's "Bible" not "Buy Bull".

That's crazy...I can't imagine the people behind this would think they would get away with it... I hope someone learned a lesson...
I'm not one to really boycott a company (unless it's something that directly happens to me, bad service, bad food..) all these large corporations have something 'bad' going on.. the list just gets longer and longer, I might avoid ones more than others though.
I will still shop there, it's not the fault of the employees or the majority of the people that work for HL...

There's more info in this story: LA TimesI haven't shopped at HL since the supreme court case and I never will shop there again. Feeling even better about that decision now.

This is what is so hypocritical and makes me pissed about the GOP and republicans who think that they are morally superior.
Bunch of bigoted, dishonest, morally challenged assholes.

Of course, no one is going to jail. They pay a fine, which is small potatoes for the Hobby Lobby family. Too rich to jail....

This is disgusting and reprehensible. I've shopped in Hobby Lobby once and that was before the Supreme Court Case. I've boycotted them since and this is one more reason to do so.
No, the people working there didn't have anything to do with this as one Pea mentioned but the company itself did and I'll be damned if I'm giving a penny of my money to a company that does this!
Sickening beyond belief.
