Our bedroom has been a horrible colour for years. The previous owners painted it a weird dark pink. It just wasn't a priority for us but we've somehow painted the kid's rooms multiple times over the years. Dh said that we should re-do our bedroom on his holidays which start in a week. I'm super excited but unprepared. I have no idea what colour to choose. I have no accessories picked out, no bedding or curtains. I'm presently looking through Pinterest.
What colour is your bedroom and what about accent colours? or have you seen any great colours this year? We are ripping up the carpet to expose the hardwoods underneath so we aren't tied to the carpet colour either.
Thanks.

It's white at the moment but it's next on our list for decorating so will probably be navy and sand soon.

I would buy new bedding first then pick a wall color that goes with it.

Mine is mint green with white wainscoting. My accent colors are gray with a sprinkling of pink.

It's been four years and I still haven't settled on a color, so it remains builder vanilla color.
Instead I regularly switch out bedding, curtains, and accessories to add color.

I did a navy blue when we moved into our house a year and a half ago. I had a dark purple in the past which I loved. I like color in the bedroom but I also like to change out my bedding, and I have a lot of stuff that is different colors - so I thought the navy would be a change that would still match what I have.
It's still not my favorite that I've had, I'm thinking of switching it out, but I'm not sure what I'll go to.

Golden tan walls with red/brown/black accents. We have gotten a new bed frame, and dressers since this pic. They are just a darker brown.

Boring Navajo White. Our bedding is a dark plum color and accent pillows are dark plum and bright green. Before that our bedding and accessories were shades of brown,
I like the neutrality of the walls so I can decorate on a whim without having to match a particular color.

It's a sage-ish green right now. I want to paint it to a really light tan. I have to wait for dh to be ready to redo the trim though. All of the trim in the house has several colors of paint on them thanks to the previous owners. We never replaced them when we painted to our liking and have said we'll replace the trim as we repaint.

Grey (I love all shades of that colour) *waiting for someone to comment on that*.
All the rooms in our house are grey, but different shades (mostly very close to white), except our livingroom which is a quite dark shade.

Mine is very light pink with white accents. I 💓 it, but it doesn't work for everyone. Ha ! You have bright pink now. 😊 You could go with a blue/green gray color that is very spa like. Have you looked on Pinterest?

We repainted the walls a light grey when we moved in. I like color more in kitchens and dining rooms. My preference is for neutrals in bedrooms.

We rent so all our walls are off white, so bland it's painful.

light gray on top | chair rail | dark grey on bottom
I switch out curtains, duvet cover, pillows, etc...when I want a new change.

We just finished remodeling our master bedroom and bath. For years it was old tongue & groove paneling painted white. Now it is wallpapered with a navy grasscloth with gray trim (SW Remote Gray) and the ceiling painted a very pale gray (SW Eider White). The drapes are navy linen. I'll go and see if I have a decent photo so share. ETA: the photo of the empty room shows a bit of the ceiling. The other gives an idea of it with furniture. It's a bit incomplete because all the shams and cushions hadn't arrived when I took these.

Questions like this always puzzle me. Who cares what colors our bedrooms are? What color(s) do YOU like? What colors do you find conducive to relaxation? Why not start there?

I'll raise your pink. Mine is 2 shades of pink. Mauve and a darker mauve under the chair rail, textured, with *sparkles*. It's just as awesome as it sounds. Not!
We rent. I offered to repaint, but they wanted it sanded smooth, too. I honestly think you have to tear out the drywall and start over. The texture is like plaster. So it remains a retro shrine to the 90s.

I read an article which said that people with green bedrooms have more sex. My bedroom is an interesting shade of green. My bedding is gray.

Mine is an aqua Tiffany blue. I hate it. I did it on a whim two years ago when I was having hard woods installed in the bedrooms. The color is pretty but I like to change my bedding a lot and now I never want to do anything with blues because it feels like it's too much with the aqua walls. I think I'd like a nice neutral light tan. There's lots of grey in the living room and kitchen so want something different in the bedroom.

Pale buttery yellow. I really don't like gray/griege/beige, and this yellow is pale enough to be pretty neutral.

I think that you should choose a color that you find peaceful. My bedroom is medium grey, and I really like it.

I would buy new bedding first then pick a wall color that goes with it. See, I don't get that. I would never paint something based on bedding. Bedding changes all the time. Paint color stays for years. I buy my bedding based on the wall color. Our bedrooms color is called Linen. We need to repaint though. I will most likely go with something similar. I like neutral lighter colors in our rooms.

I am not a fan, but any room that is put together well, always looks nice.
