I am great at scraplifting and my friends even tell me they like my layouts better than the ones I am copying. But when it comes to putting together a mini album I am lost. I want it to look all put together and don't know where to start. I have pictures from a trip we took last year and would like to put them into a travel journal. I have the paper pulled and some stamps. Can anyone recommend where I can look for some inspiration to see what a whole album would look like and not just a page or so photographed? I thought maybe I would find a class on scrapbook.com, but I didn't see any. Thanks.

What I do for my travel albums to make them look cohesive is to make a kit for myself. I pick 6-8 papers I like together, 1 sheet of Thickers for larger titles, a few smaller sheets of letter stickers, some 3D embellishments that go with the papers, and I print all the photos at once. Then, I sketch. I make an 8 page rotation so that every page 'A' looks the same- ex: Page A's (every 8th page) are the 4 pocket 6x8 and the top right and bottom left corners are for photos, patterned paper goes in the top left, and the bottom right is reserved for printed journaling. I may then decide that every patterned paper has a 3D embellishment in the center and that I'll put a small heart sticker centered below the journaling.

Thank you jamiebohbamie. I really like that album and it looks like it was kept simple. I also like your idea of coming up with design pages and then just rotating them out. That would help to simply things. I have all, if not most of my supplies pulled so that will definately help.

It sounds like you may have already found the help you need, but Pinterest has lots of mini albums, which could be used like a page sketch and just adapted to your chosen paper and photos.

I have looked at Pinterest. There are page samples, but not many whole albums. Maybe I am not searching the proper way.

I love mini albums.
As a previous poster said,I go through my stash and make a kit. I then take a few moments and make a loose plan as to which photos with which papers and which size/type of pockets etc.
Thing is, there's no right or wrong. Just make your album the way you like it. Try some new things, different techniques etc
If I need inspiration I look on YouTube. I just search for "mini album flip through". There's all kinds of things there, or even mini album process.
Good luck and have fun.

Lots of blogs share pictures of the whole album. Also, I didn't see where you mentioned what size or style you're interested in.

I blogged about my mini vacation album and I've got photos of the entire thing (top of post as a scrolling gallery). It was my first 4x4 album and I had no idea where to start so I just did whatever felt fun and didn't overthink it. Columbus Mini Album

I saw your pictures of Columbus but do you have pictures of the album you made? Your pictures are gorgeous and I absolutely love, love, love the December Daily that you did.

Ellewood I love your tag album as well. You guys are giving me great inspiration.
Someone ask what type of album I will be using. I am thinking of putting it all in a travel journal. Looking back I really wish I would have kept more memorablia.

Have you ever used the free trial offer at big picture classes? There are loads of mini book classes over there. I did Lisa Truesdell's Adventure mini when I had my free trial there. It is one of my favorites projects that I have done.

I love looking at mini albums with little inserts and extra bits. This TN booklet on the Simple Stories Blog looks really fun to make and to view later. Not sure if she started with a premade TN or if she created this with folded cs/pp, then stapled together? Anyway, just one more idea.

I'm make mini albums all the time. I just finished a couple of travel albums with a vintage collage feel. These mini albums are like mini binders so you can add and remove pages as you wish.
