Between Buena Park/Aneheim, Santa Clarita and Los Angeles are there any scrap stores worth checking out?
My husband's new job is forcing him to take time off...I mean, how great is that?! He didn't think he qualified for leave and couldn't figure out what his leave hours were meant for in their online system (we thought it was an error) but apparently even though he was hired in April and is on probation until October, one of their entitlements is 40 hours of personal leave every year and if he doesn't take it before Sept 1st, it rolls over into sick leave (just what he has pro-rated for the year now and what he'll get in September is more leave than I think he ever used for being ill in the 12 1/2 years he worked at his prior workplace, so another 40 hours would be wasted). Because he works two jobs, we opted to take the days over the course of 3 weeks to give him back to back 3 days weekends (sun, mon, tue) so he can still work his second job and then the last day he is taking off for our oldest son's first day of 1st grade. We are sort of throwing together a very impromptu trip to SoCal so we can visit family and have some fun. We usually rush and don't have any time to really scout out places to shop, but this time we'll be there an extra day. So if there is anything worth looking for (other than the usual TM and chain stores) I'd love to know!!

There are none in LA proper unfortunately. One or two are scattered and you should be able to find them by searching for SoCal. Sorry for the bad news ☹️

Scrapbook Made Simple is in Santa Clarita and they just got a Hobby Lobby. If you're near Ontario there's Wooten's.

Would you enjoy a stationery store instead? More options there.
Or maybe a Daiso! those are always fun.

Wooten's in Ontario, as mentioned above, is still going strong. It's just off the 15 near Ontario Mills Shopping Center. There is also a nice store in Covina, Hearts and Crafts, between the 10 and the 210, so probably not far from your travel path. Here is a link to their blog, which shows a So Cal Shop Hop that starts July 22. There are lots of other stores listed there. Happy scrappy shopping!

I've been to Hearts and Crafts. Nice store and the owner was very friendly. Definitely stop there!
