Yesterday my 17-year-old son came up to me and said "Mom, could you do a scrapbook page about me and my love of history? Also one about..." and he proceeded to list off 4 or 5 ideas that he'd like me to scrapbook about himself and about our family. He also asked me to write a lot on these pages.
I love every single thing about paper crafting, but knowing he appreciates and loves looking at the scrapbooks makes it so worthwhile on a whole other level.
My plan is to get him to do some of the writing for me - what a great way to get his thoughts and feelings on paper as well as my own.

Thank you for sharing it! This reinforces why I scrapbook. Sometimes I need reinforcing.

That's awesome! It probably wouldn't take too much to push him to contribute his own words.

Your son is awesome!
My daughter asked me to make a paper bag album about her puppy years ago. Now she scrapbooks herself!

Those are the things that keep a scrapper going! Gotta love when they make special requests!

That is truly amazing. The closest I have gotten to that is my son giving me a copy of his graduation speech for "the baby book" without me asking for it. We call all scrapbooks the baby book.

Thank you everyone for your kind words! I've been scrapbooking all day today - gotta go with it when inspiration hits!!! mom- that's a great idea about scrapbooking the conversation with him - I hadn't thought of that - it's definitely something that I want to remember I don't have a daughter that I can teach scrapbooking to, so it's pretty great to have a son who cares. He is a sweet boy.
