I just read it this week.
I really, really didn't like it. So much was going on.
And what the hell is going on in V's mind?!
And for Tohr and Quinn to speak so hatefully to Layla?!
And then what about the end?! The whole Quinn suddenly being all fine with Xcor holding his kids, moving in, etc???!
Anyone want to talk about this book?

Lol, no. I've wanted to forget about it since I read it a few months ago!

I couldn't get beyond the first book in the series. Grown men using juvenile teen catch phrases was a serious turn off.

OMG. I am so old. I just read the summary/recap of this book and you couldn't pay me to read it. Clearly, I am not the target demographic.

these are my guilty pleasure But this book was a struggle. I feel that lately she is packing too many story lines into the books and it makes it difficult to follow. Whats even worse is that I don't even remember what happened in this book....Im reading your questions and feel like I didn't read it, but I did...I used to like Quinn but he's turning into a whiny little boy and I hate that.

I completely agree. The Peas introduced me to this series, and I devoured it. Then, I enjoyed eagerly awaiting each new book. Now, I like to look forward to each book, but they no longer deliver the same punch they used to. I think J.R. Ward has to introduce new characters so quickly that we don't fall for them or root for them in their own stories, and she has violated the rules of her world enough times that they are kind of a joke. And it's almost seems silly, how at one moment a character can be murderously hateful towards another character, but then suddenly be overcome with clarity and forgiveness, and everybody loves and trusts each other.
And how many people can live in that mansion? It's starting to sound like the Black Dagger Brotherhood Dormitory. Everyone gets their own room with an en suite bathroom, meals are provided, there is a Olympic level fitness center, and laundry, housekeeping and parking are provided.

It definitely was a forgettable book from the series but I still love the BDB

I like the ones with the younger recruits. Those have been fairly entertaining and I like seeing the next generation.

I love the escape the BDB series has given me over the years, but this one made me go "WARDen, what the hell are you smoking?!?!?!". I can't believe she let the Bastard's move into the mansion at the end. I mean seriously???

I read this a couple of months ago when it came out and I honestly barely remember it. Which makes me super sad as I could pretty much recite the earlier books in the series. Qhuinn's always been my favorite character and I was so incredibly disappointed with the way he treated Layla in this book that it's kinda spoiled him for me.
