Is anyone else bothered by the rounded corners of the Becky Higgins PL cards? I bought one or two kits a few years ago before I really decided to sit down and scrapbook in this style and before I was fully committed and I've since given most of the sets away because I just don't use them. I love the designs and really love some of the filler cards but I don't like the look of mixed rounded cards/square edge photos and I also don't want to round the corners of my photos. Surely I'm not the only one who hates this.

It doesn't bother me to mix rounded and square. There are so many options available that you don't have to stick with rounded corners. You can also purchase her digital kits and only print the card you want to use and cut it square.

I'd say about 95% of the time it doesn't bother me to mix. When it does bother me? I just round the corners of my photos.

It's not something that bothers me so I happily mix square and rounded corners.

It annoys me. I only have a couple of sets and I'm terrible at using them because of the rounded corners. I mostly use those cards on 12x12 pages and either cut the corners so they are square or cover them up.

It didn't bother me at first...my only completed PL album from 2014 has a mix of both at the start. I dropped the ball on it for months because I don't/can't scrap while pregnant and by the time I got back into it, I really didn't like them anymore. The exception that I made was for a week that included me winning one of the prize drops that Becky did here...I used the partial that I had of the kit I ended up winning (Slate). I also have so many kit cards, that I don't find myself reaching for them ever really. I find that I love the designs, but with the other options I have that have the squared corners, I don't use them much (and if I do use official PL product, it's the square cornered SU stuff). As a result, unless I find something for a bargain that I just can't pass up, I only buy kits from the app now. I can print them myself so they'll have the straight corners that I prefer and I don't have another box of stuff to find a place for. My plan if/when I start to run low on cards (or if I find a place in a Raskog near my desk to keep an odd assortment of cards from various kits to try and use them) is to cut them down and mount them to other cards or cardstock. I also try to avoid the cardstock packs of PL cards unless they are 4x6 because they can easily be cut down to be straight edged 3x4 cards (and the only time I buy these is on super clearance). All that being said, seeing a card or photo from another spread because it's not perfectly the same size as the one on the page I'm working on doesn't bother me in the least. To me, even though my PL spreads are generally coordinated for that week, PL is meant to be a bit more eclectic and that happening just adds to that look to me.

It really bothers me too. I have a lot of SC cards that I love but were from the rounded corners era. I've thought about trimming the cards to be squares but haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure if it will look a lot smaller than the other cards.

It bothers me. I'm not sure why they thought that was a good idea. Corner rounding was popular 15 or so years ago but not as much any more. I don't mind the mix of rounded and squared on a page. But I do round corners if a rounded card is backed up against a square one so the back doesn't show through. Fortunately I have a corner punch that closely matches. It's not the one PL was selling--that piece of junk only lasted a few months before it literally fell apart.

My PL corner rounder also broke before I completed my first album. My Creative Memories corner rounder is still going strong after 15 years, but it bugs me that the radius doesn't match the cards that I have.

I used to really love the look of PL rounded corners but now I really don't. I don't like the look of mixing round and square corners either. It surprises me that they've continued to do them with rounded corners actually. BH must either be really committed to that look or get feedback from a lot of customers that they like that look. Maybe people feel like it adds value or makes their pages look fancy without any effort...? I feel like the corners are the last thing I would want people noticing about my pages. Square corners don't draw any attention away from the photos and stories. Rounded corners just feel gimmicky and dated to me now.
It annoys me because if you sell cards with square corners people can easily choose to round them, but you can't really square them back up and keep the cards the right size.

I've learned to mix the corners and have a pretty eclectic PL style. It is the feel of the cards and the overall printing and paper quality (the satuaration of colors and smoothness of the paper... or lack thereof) that really puts me off. I have kept a small stash from a few core kits over the years, but I never use them for those reasons. I did buy the OLB currently edition as a digital and have printed and used cards from that one several times already.

YES! Why not just allow people to crop their own corners? The rounded looks dated and then you have to start cropping your photos or patterned papers to match. So annoying! I would buy tons of BH kits and her add-on kits (I also really loved the Heidi Swapp add-ons) if it weren't for the darn corners. I love the clean, crisp look of square corners.

When I started doing PL back in late 2015, I didn't care that I had rounded corners mixed with square corners. But after doing 2016 December Daily with some 6x6 paper pads that I had, none of the corners were rounded and I realized I LOVED that more. So now I do not use any rounded corner cards at all. Unless I can cut the card down to show the middle (image or words) and then I mat it on a square cornered piece. I only have 2 BH core kits, and I do use the cards still; just on 12x12 layouts or on handmade greeting cards. I wish they would have left them square and then let the consumer make the choice to round or not to round.

I hate the rounded corners. I am actually toying with the idea of getting rid of everything with the rounded corners. I have transitioned to using the app a lot and like that I can choose square corners. I wish I could set square as the default, but that's just because I'm being lazy.

Yes, I have a whole drawer of BH PL Cards with the rounded corners and I never use them. I think I will just get rid of them. When I send my daughter a care package I usually grab one and write a note on the back, but I don't need a whole drawer of them.

I much prefer the square and have tried to mix them but it always gets under my skin! I gravitate towards the square cards for sure.

If you saw my PL style scrapbook pages, you would realize I don't care about many things. My pictures are sometimes sideways, I use cheesy die cuts, I mess up my handwriting and don't use a new card, photos have white borders, other photos do not...

I also prefer the square corners, and have only used a BH kit in a December Daily album. I have never seen any "official" feedback from BH regarding the rounded corner look. I'd love to know why she persists with it as it seems like most of those who do PL prefer the square corners.

I don't do pocket page scrapbooking but do incorporate cards in my traditional scrapbooking. I don't like rounded corners. If possible I will trim to square the corners.

It bothers me too. When I first started Pocket scrapbooking I tried the rounded cards and did not like them. I am always looking for square corners. If anyone one has some kit suggestions I would be interested. I do like Cocoa Daisy.

I quickly learned that while I like pocket page albums I really don't like BH's items. I have yet to use the 2 sets of her cards that I own, and I truly dislike her pocket pages. That being said, if I ever use the cards I do have, I'll probably cut them down a bit and then mat them with another card, which is a pain since it adds time and bulk to my album, but it's probably what I would do anyway. In old albums, like really old albums, there were those corners that you had to use to keep the photos on the paper. They were usually black. Can you use those on a layout of it really bothers you if black works for the layout?

I round other photos and cards to look uniform. It bothers me because I prefer square corners.

It doesn't bother me to mix but BH really should change her product. You can round unrounded corners easily. You can't unrounded a rounded corner.
I used to round corners. Then I all of a sudden didn't want to anymore. I thought it would bother me so I started off this year trimming the rounded corner cards so they were squared, and then mounted them on plain white card stock.
Then that really started to irritate me so now I mix and match, and I'm fine with the results.

You can round unrounded corners easily. You can't unrounded a rounded corner. This is just fun to read and say out loud lol!
