linkChoice tidbits from the article: What about Trump? He not only put Neil M. Gorsuch in the Supreme Court vacancy created by Merrick Garland’s blocked confirmation, but he also selected 27 lower-court judges as of mid-July. Twenty-seven! That’s three times Obama’s total and more than double the totals of Reagan, Bush 41 and Clinton — combined. For the Courts of Appeals — the final authority for 95 percent of federal cases — no president before Trump named more than three judges whose nominations were processed in his first six months; Trump has named nine. Trump is on pace to more than double the number of federal judges nominated by any president in his first year.Progressives who are increasingly counting on the federal courts to be a bulwark against Trump’s initiatives will increasingly find those courts stocked with judges picked by, and in sync with, Trump. With federal judges serving for life, one might think that the process of dramatically changing the makeup of the federal judiciary would take a long time. But given Trump’s unprecedented pace, in just one more year, one-eighth of all cases filed in federal court will be heard by a judge he appointed. So basically, after shitting all over the country, I think we'll eventually be rid of him, but then we'll be left with his toxic legacy. I hate to say it but we're doomed.

Not long ago there was a thread bitching about the number of vacancies in the courts and now you're all going to complain because he's trying to fill those vacancies. Unbelievable.
I have no doubt the dems will make sure those appointments are held up for as long as possible.

No, the hypocrisy is obstructing Obama's nominees and then complaining that Democrats are complaining that the seats purposely left empty are being filled by Trump nominees.

Couldn't help thinking about Merrick Garland's stolen (for life) seat in the thread about Ann Coulter throwing a shit-fit about losing her airplane seat (to another seat in the same row).

Let's not forget Harry Reid and the nuclear option. FTR I don't need a reminder, I'm well aware that there's an equal amount of blame to go around on both sides. This quote from the article you posted sums it up pretty damn well; “Really, we’ve got to stop it. Both sides,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). “The problem is it all depends on who’s in power. And then they take advantage, so what goes around comes around. And it’s got to end.”

Obviously, we didn't want to Trump to fill them - they should have been filled by his predecessor, as was his right, but Republicans blocked an absolutely unprecedented number of his appointments. Both sides do it, but the record shows that only one side does it egregiously, and it's not the "Dems." It's not an "equal amount of blame to go around on both sides" at all.
