I just this week bought my first Toyota - a Venza wagon. I shopped for it for a long time. They last made them in 2015. I got a 2015 with 95, yes 95 miles on it. It had never been sold by the dealership - they had it as a company car. I love everything about this car. It has tons of leg room. The storage in the rear is very large. It is based on the Camry so it drives like a car, but you sit a bit higher. The leg room in the rear is really generous because the style could have had third row seating but it doesn't so all that room goes into the passenger and cargo areas. They stopped making Venzas because people who would like this style preferred the RAV4. RAV4 sales are through the roof and it left the Venza in the dust. I paid just about $21K for my vehicle with 1.5% interest rate for 4 years. There are Venzas available with very few miles on them if you are at all interested in a car like this. There is one in my area XLE with 9K miles. I love my Venza! We bought new in 2009 after my CRV was totalled. I was down between a Camry and Highlander, the salesman said I think I have something you should drive, I did and bought it. It is the sister car of the Avalon and half sister of the Lexus smaller SUV. It has been the most comfortable vehicle we have ever owned, much larger than a RAV. Mine does have blind spots - we just added the little mirrors 168K and going strong. To answer the original question, I would get a Camry mid range as we do not like leather interior. SaveSave

If you get a prius, take it on the interstate and make sure it is capable of going over 55 miles per hour. I have NEVER seen one that did, and I'm not sure if it's an issue with the car,or with every single person I have ever seen driving one. You haven't been on IH35 when I'm driving.

So....we bit the bullet and bought a 2016 Corolla with 9500 miles on it. The only thing is no back up camera and no elec seats. With hubby working at the dealership eons ago, our salemans being an ex LEO and the LEO discount we walked away with a purchase price of 12500...taxes, tags, title, fees and a warranty we shook out at 15800. We chose this for price and the thought that it will end up being our youngest daughters car. Thank you for all of your help. Our plan is to pay it off by next Thanksgiving and go buy a 4-runner then. Thank goodness for hubby being an instrctor, our 4runner fund is what he is calling it. Go enjoy your weekend! ladies, I totaled my beloved 4runner. I loved my Toyota in the 11 years and 215,000 miles it only had basic maintenance and the resale is really good. Toyota holds its own So after much talk, we had planned on buying a new 4runner late next year but the bank sign had other plans. Due to us not wanting a large car payment(we are putting 10k down and only wanting to finance no more than 10k, we can pay that off in a year) we have decided to go with a sedan...Camry, Corolla, Avalon one Of the Toyotas that is not a truck or SUV. Then next fall we will have the down payment we had planned on and go buy a newer 4-runner and have the "Camry-Corolla...." paid off. So my question is tell me what Toyota non SUV/Truck/Crossover do you have ...do you love it or hate it? Also what extras did you get that you love or wished you hadn't got? Thanks y'all for any information. I'm surprised you got a LEO discount, we were told back in January Toyota don't offer them because their brand holds its value and another excuse but I can't recall exactly what it was. I'd have to ask DH.

I'd have to ask DH. We bought our car through a Chrysler dealer...it was considered "used". The LEO discount was through the dealerships owner not Toyota we were also told that at Toyota. No wiggle room on price at Toyota so off we went to Chrysler. The discount was a grand and gave is 3 free oil changes and 3 tire rotations. Also inculuded a lifetime power train warranty Engine and Transmission. We purchased an additional 7 years 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty at cost for 1200$.
