I'm heading to the Santa Clara SBE this weekend. I've been waffling about doing the Mega Make and Take on Thursday. Has anyone been to one this year in another location? How was it? The pro to going is that I actually have childcare, and the day off - which I usually don't. The con is that I'd be going alone. That's okay, but it's more fun (for me) to go with someone. However, I'm interested to know what kind of projects to expect, how many projects etc. It says it runs from 3-12, but that it starts at 5. Would I need to stay until 12? Do they give prizes away like at the crops? Give me the low-down please! TIA!

I haven't been to one this year, but I've done them in the past at Ontario and Anaheim. They were the same general format each time. The projects were sponsored by various vendors to showcase their product. A good number of them are cards, there is usually a jewelry piece, and a couple of page layouts. They're fun to make and go quickly. After each, the vendor has the featured item, like Wink of Stella, for example, for sale at a special price.
I go alone, but so do lots of others. Everyone I've met has been extremely nice, and it wasn't awkward at all to be solo. They do have prizes, as well as a pretty nice kit for registering.
The Expo staff is very positive and upbeat. They do a good job of creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere at the crops. I hope you have fun if you decide to go.

Their website shows most (if not all) the projects you'll make. scrapbookexpo.com/2017-expo-show-list/sj-17/mega-make-take-extravaganza-sj17/If you like the projects, then it is worth it. As mentioned, the vendors come in and sell some items during their project, and you can get some good deals. Some only take cash during this part (plus it goes faster to pay with cash there). I wasn't thrilled with the projects, so I didn't sign up this year. Plus, they raised the price this year and I didn't think it would be worth the price since I only liked one of the projects. I did go to the Friday and Saturday crops and they were a lot of fun. Enjoy if you go!

I have watched it going on but never participate. One year I did a CKC Make and Take where they made us pay for the event, required us to make cards for the vendors to thank them for coming. WTF? How about thanking me for coming? Where's my card for spending $35 on the event and like $500 for all my expenses to come and spend my money.
Anyway, I digress. I have not chosen to do it as I said but it looks like people are having fun. So if you just want to go and have a good time I think it is probably worth it.

I just signed up for the Scrapbook Expo in Mesa AZ in September. I will be attending the Mega Make and Take. I am surprised you still have the option to sign up at the Santa Clara one. I think it sells out every year at the one in AZ. It is very popular. I am looking forward to it!
It's just like cbscrapper said, you check out the make and take projects on the scrapbook expo website.

There are a bunch of videos on youtube.com just search for Scrapbook Expo Make and Take 2017. I have done it before and enjoyed most of the projects. I am going to Santa Clara and signed up for it again plus classes throughout the expo. Not only do they do the project but the companies often have "exclusive sales" right there in the crop room after a project.

I think these have honestly gotten better with each year. This year's (in Schaumburg, IL) were pretty good!

I went and enjoyed the Make & Take Crop. I have already reserved my room for Sacramento and am waiting to see if the projects are different than others.
