I don't think anyone called TACO as a successor to random donuts! I think it was LavenderLayoutLady who suggested that maybe we are down to grabbing inspiration from what the interns are eating.

It's weird...I think it's a result of wanting to be a hipster, but my guess would be a real hipster would roll their eyes.

Not sure if it was me that made that observation. Sounds too clever to be my idea, LOL. I think whomever said it is right, though.

I actually have much more use for a taco than most items. My life is very taco-centric. I also saw one of the lines has a food truck. I can definitely use that one. I also could use the tiger. I love wild cats. But yeah, a lot of the icons are really random. I have no use for hot air balloons. I am over pineappled. I also hate dumb or schmaltzy saying on die cuts. "Be curious", "Live free", "Find your light". And what is up with "hustling"? I've seen it in decor, too, so it must be the new trendy word.

Separately you might be able to use them somehow. But together? Just not working for me. And now the new pebbles line has a guitar,a nail polish bottle and...a taco! Again, weird. And what is up with "hustling"? I've seen it in decor, too, so it must be the new trendy word. Having a "side hustle" is kind of a thing right now, I think. There's a commercial for working for Uber that says something to the fact of get your side hustle on, or something like that.

No taco trucks or anything cool here. Perhaps cows will come into style and corn stalks and tractors, and of course #walmart We are definitely not a hipster area. Here, hustle is used on the basketball court.

just browsing some new lines.....the new Amy tan line has a tiger and taco and a plane......erm...is it just me ,or is that just...weird? Agreed. That's what is annoying me about so many of the new lines. If I'm buying stickers/chipboard/diecuts...I want to make sure it's worth my money. I will have to plan on using a majority of the package. I'm not a huge theme scrapper, but if I'm buying those things, it's because it fits a theme, or is generic in the way of hearts, arrows, cameras...things I can use on everything. I eat tacos at LEAST once a week, but have absolutely no plans to use a taco on a LO. But, if I did, I would not also be scraping tigers and planes. It's just strange.

I also hate dumb or schmaltzy saying on die cuts. "Be curious", "Live free", "Find your light" ^^^ OMG, Yes! Since southwest / hipster is trendy right now, I see so many cute southwest / outdoor lines that would work perfect for pages of places we go, but the 'live free' and 'dream big' sayings, along with some of the super-hipster icons just RUIN them for me. They could at least save the trendy phrases for the cut-apart pages, but they also put them on some of the 12x12 pages... that's just more papers that I won't use. eta: we also love tacos, but I wouldn't use them on a SB page... no use for tigers or nail polish. And to me, 'hustle' is only said in reference to sports.

I can totally see using a taco, but like one time. I don't want 20 of them. I never liked flamingos, doughnuts, or pineapples. I don't think I've used a single one. The vespa/cars trend doesn't do much for me either.
100% yes on schmaltzy saying. I loath saying with "journey" in particular. Blah.

It'd be fun to keep a running list of weird icons in Amy Tangerine lines. If I had more time on my hands I'd go through them all online and start listing. Maybe then we could see a pattern. I think they must go with one wild animal + one food item + one method of transportation + one trendy shape so you get a collection with a zebra, and donut, a double decker bus, and a rainbow. Makes perfect sense! Maybe she asks little Jack to pick them.

I can't even pretend to be shocked because there is always some odd, random image in every collection, isn't there? I'm more surprised if I can easily use everything. LOL.

Side hustle? Is that like having a side piece? I realize that I'm getting too old to keep up with what young people are doing and saying these days. I just never thought scrapbooking trends would be too "young" for me to keep up with. Although, I never did "get" Amy Tangerine. I just can't make her stuff work and if it takes work to use it then it's not fun for me.

OK abut 2 years ago I had a picture of me eating a taco when I was a teenager and I looked everywhere for a taco sticker. Soooo - I will try to find one of these tacos and go back and add it to the page! If someone buys it and has no need of the taco, I would love it!

I was going to add bird products but there aren't any swans, owls, flamingos, hummingbirds, or feathers in this collection... ETA: forgot toucans

This is why I haven't bought any of the AC lines in years. I loved Amy Tan's Plus One, but everything after that has been disjointed and odd.

Both Unity and Sweet Stamp Shop had/have a stamp that had a pun along the lines of "I don't want to TACO about it." Which is kind of a stretch.
I also don't get "hustle," mostly because back in the day when I was young, a "hustler" was a con artist.

I think julieotte5 is on to something. I am single and live in the city so a lot of Amy Tan's stuff works for me. I never thought about that but her target market doesn't seem to be suburban or rural people. I don't know if she consciously made that decision or if that is all she knows but her stuff is definitely more city-centric.
I just thought of an object that I have no use for: clothing pins. Several collections in the past year have included clothing pins. They immediately go in my "to give away" pile.

I'm using an Illustrated Faith kit right now that has washi with succulents on it. I'm sure I'll use some of it, but it will take years if ever to use up the whole thing.

Maybe she thinks us hillbillies ain't got time to scrapbook (eyeroll) Honestly though, I think she's just that narrow minded.
