I did make it back to my scrap room after reading all afternoon and evening yeasterday. And I found some "Christmasy" pics. I didn't try to participate in the challenge because I didn't remember having these. Broke out a new kit and this was really easy and fun.

Yes, I am at a crop this weekend! I'm getting off to a slow start as much of last night I ended up getting silhouette cut files set up on the computer that replaced the one that crashed. The silhouette files were easy, but I have at least 2x as much from other sources. DD is coming over in a few hours so we can run out to lunch and shop at some antique and occasional sales. The town we are in has a ton of them, so makes for a nice break and spending some time with her. So may not be a super productive weekend but a nice getaway!

I don't know what just happened. I spent a good hour prepping a 4x4 WRMK album for December Daily? What? I wasn't planning on attempting one this year after so many failures but my brain just went into cutting-paper-sliding-ephemera-in-pockets mode. So, here I am, with die-cuts, stitched labels and PL cards, trying to create a nice layered and textured basis. Sorcery, I tell you. Voodoo doll, black magic. I've never done this so thoroughly before. I've never started working on a mini project without sketching things out a little. I think the stress of my first summer break coming to an end is getting to me! Must be LisaDV's Christmas In July project that got to you!

I have begun to make a dint in the mess that was called my desk! I cleared it all off, moved around a couple of storage containers so that it fits my work flow better, sorted piles of paper and tossed a lot of useless paper (mainly stuff I'd printed, not SB papers). There still is a lot to do - I want to sort through all the storage containers and toss stuff I am never going to use - but it is much neater already and I have a plan!

I scrap almost exclusively 8.5x11 and this shows just how cute that size can be even with the larger prints. TFS!!

I am hoping to squeeze some time in after we finish the dreaded back to school shopping for my 2 teens. I have been working on a little 4x4 album of our trip to San Diego and I'm almost done with it and am loving how it's turning out! I'm itching to have at least one completed album! 😂

We didn't get home until after 11:30 last night from my fiancee's softball game, so I didn't have the energy for an early morning scrap. Just took out the dogs and went back to bed. I am slowly waking up, waiting for the mail,Gossamer Blue warehouse box will be here today. I am having trouble with my Selphy lately,so I have to put in an order to Walgreens, of course I had trouble uploading pics on their site, so I will save that for another day and just scrap my available pictures. Eventually I am going to have to get another printer, I have an HP Envy all in one, but I do not like the photo quality at all. I was so disappointed, I had really hoped I would just be able to use that. I am heading down to the scrap room and hoping I have some good mojo going.

I am making two 50 page books of a trip to the Dominican Republic. I already have the photos printed, layouts picked, and kits made. I make two of each layout, so I technically have to do 4.5 layouts twice. I could easily do it in less than 12 hours IF I sit down and get going. I have it all laid out on my table and ready to go. So what have I done all day? I have been organizing stuff that I have purchased the last month instead. Sounds like a great plan. In your "kits", do you have everything for the layout, or just paper pulled? I, too, tend to get sidetracked when I should be scrapping...speaking of, I better get off and go make my Cameo titles.... If I am scrapping t home, mostly paper/matching embellishments. If I am going to a crop, I take everything.

The part that takes me the longest is just the prep work. Since that is already done, I should be good to go. I am not a simple scrapper by any means, but I am also not big on tons of techniques, so I can rock them out in a timely matter. I am semi-retired (work M-Th 20 hours a week) and my boys are adults and they do not require much time. My dogs take up more time than my boys. You have Corgis? I have one Westie. Oh the time I spend letting him in, letting him out! I would love after my son's wedding to really knock some pages out this year. I'm up for any tips!! Happy Scrapping! He only wants to go out if we are going out. He goes for two good walks a day, so in between he's pretty mellow. We have a lot of large wildlife in the area (momma bear and baby were out on Thursday), so he doesn't spend a lot of time out by himself.

I am itching to scrap. I ordered pictures and I'm hoping they arrive today. I was able to get a few things at Michael's and JoAnn's to get me going. I placed one scrapbook order last night. And once I get my pictures I'm going to start online shopping for paper.

I made one scrapbook page and I'm stuck on a second one today. We are on an unexpected break from in home therapy for my kids (I messed up paperwork!) so I'm leaving my living room a mess until they start again. We rarely have visitors.

I'm hoping to get a few hours in the craft room this afternoon to have a go at a couple more Christmss cards. I still have a few DD pages from last year to finish off as well but am not sure if I'll get to them.
Had to do some gardening yesterday as it was the first fine weekend we've had in weeks so I could actually finish off pruning the roses and wisteria.

I finished 3 out of my 9 layouts last night. Then today I got a free acrylic display that perfectly holds hundreds of 3 x 4 PL cards. So instead of working on my last six layouts, I have been filling the display and trying to figure out where to put it. Kind of the story of my life. I will scrap today... oh, look, something for organization I don't have. Three hours later...
We've had so much rain this month that I have had plenty of opportunity to sit in my scrap room, but sometimes too much free time means I get nothing done.

Nope! I did have a fun play around with some new dies I had (ordered and received while working on my Christmas in July project) and made a ton of little cardstock hearts and stars to sprinkle around. I still have about a 4 inch thick stack of glittered and foil 4x6 pieces that I haven't cut, yet, but they can wait. I was really disappointed in the dies at first and then did some research to see if I needed a special plate for them and yep...it was recommended that I use the magnetic platform and the precision plate (it was like 11pm at night so I couldn't just run out and get it) but it led me to wonder if the genius platform I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby would work okay. I honestly don't understand why people complain about it so much (yes, you can't see through the cutting pad, so that part I get, but you can remedy that with micropore or washi tape) because it cuts wonderfully AND unlike the acrylic plates under the sizzix brand, these plates are made of something similar to cutting mats and I love the material. Even my cutting mats are permanently marked when I cut into them, but other than a faint outline of the die shape, you can't even tell it isn't new. Not cutting, just an ever so slight impression and it cuts through like butter without me having to have a ton of cardboard, cardstock and chipboard layered together to help get a better cut. Just the magnet and one of the plates. Instead of scrapping, I am cleaning. I emptied the cart that had my DD 2015 supplies in it (mostly just stuffed it all into one of the large Iris boxes), stuck some craft paint in the top bin and FINALLY (since it's empty) managed to get it under my tool table that put adjustable legs on and had always intended to use as storage for a couple of carts. They'd always been too tall to ever fit, though...so in my already cramped space, I had 4 carts and 2 large office chairs floating around. Now, 2 carts (the other is the one I keep my trimmer on since I don't have room on my desk...for now the trimmer isn't on it so I can put it next to the one I just emptied out) are nicely tucked under that table and my room feels so much roomier! If I can manage to get the rest of my desk tackled, I might get to scrapping earlier in the week. One of the deals with my husband's new job is that he doesn't earn vacation while in probation, but in addition to their vacation time, they get 40 hours of leave every year and even though he started in the second half of their fiscal year, he was given the full 40 hours and has to take it before Sept 1st. Since he works 2 jobs and we can't afford to have him take time off on short notice, rather than take it all at once and drop everything to go on vacation, we are having him take off this Monday and Tuesday, next Monday and Tuesday and the following Monday (my oldest's first day of school) so he'll have 2 3 day weekends and then a 2 day weekend. He's going to do some stuff with the kids one of those days and if I feel up to it, I'll start working on something then.

I have 2 pages started,(not sure how that happened) but I haven't been in the scrap room all that much. With doing all the other stuff I had to do I just got tired. Hopefully today will be more productive for me I plan on some organization after finishing these two pages.

WHINE AHEAD...I thought I'd get time to play this afternoon, but now DH's crazy sister is coming by. I am seriously considering calling my neighbor to go out for coffee when SIL is supposed to be here. I can't deal with any more family drama from his side. You know it's bad when I am almost looking forward to work tomorrow...

Way to go 950nancy! I wondered how you fared! DH is working all weekend, so I'm trying to formulate a game plan. I want to see if I can knock out that many pages in a weekend!

Not going to lie, putting it out there on this site did make me get going. Probably should do it more often. The last layout I made used about 12 different washi tapes and I am just so in love with it I don't want to put pictures on it. It also has flamingos and gold glitter. The best part is, the tape is primarily PINK. So not a fan of pink! But now that I have tried this technique, I need to go buy the washi tape that is "boy" and use it for my boys' layouts from when they were little. I'm really just motivated to get these two travel books done by the end of August. We got back from our trip on June 7th, so that is a lot of pages (100 total) to do in 7-8 weeks.
