Update on my band uniforms: there's 132 kids in the band (this doesn't include the color guard). I have 52 pants left to hem, fix, and alter. I have two jackets that need their sleeves shortened (not permanently).
I've set up a work schedule so I don't get burnt out. In the morning, I knit until 9, shower, run errands or do chores. After lunch I work on the pants until 5. Depending on the amount of work needed, I usually get 6 or 7 done. After dinner, I knit some more. Right now, the knitting is replaced with the wedding cross stitch. I get very little crafting done on the weekends.
Tomorrow I'm heading to the Michigan Fiber Fest.

Finished the Whirl shawl Just needs blocking which I'll do tonight ready to gift on Sunday (changed from a post-surgery gift to a birthday gift!) I still had over 50g of yarn left when I got to the end of the pattern so I extended the repeat and added a slip stitch edge. Here's a couple of quick late night pics - hope to get some better ones in daylight at the weekend.

I knitted 5 dishcloths for an annual dishcloth swap (you knit/crochet 5 of the same pattern, mail them in and you get 5 different ones back) This pattern is called the Nineteen Hundred House, made with cotton yarn - it was a fun pattern and worked up quickly.

The month of August is being dominated by the band's uniform pants. I don't want to see those black pants in my house ever again! I'm working on the cross stitch for DH's cousin's wedding. Because some of his cousins (the groom, his bride, and one of his siblings) follow me on Instagram, I haven't shared anything past this point: http://instagram.com/p/BYB5DWGH_Af I'm actually almost done. I'm doing the last of the hearts now and should have it done this weekend. DH has been really curious about it and keeps saying he needs a hobby. He decided to give it a try. http://instagram.com/p/BYJNsAQnMHu

Where did you find the pouf pattern? Is it knit or crochet? It's crochet. The pattern is on Ravelry; it's called Puffy Bath Pouf.

I'm currently perusing my stash to make a prayer shawl for a friend from church recently diagnosed with bone cancer. I have finished/delivered one of the baby blankets, with 2 others still WIP. Also have a WIP hat & scarf for Special Olympics and a WIP circle jacket for me made of reclaimed yarn. I've kinda lost some cro-jo lately. Maybe the shawl project will help. Anyone want to share their favorite prayer shawl pattern?

Anyone want to share their favorite prayer shawl pattern? When I was making them I just made a rectangle about 18-20 inches wide and 48-60 inches long. My favorite pattern was one I made for my sister. It's a scarf pattern on Ravelry called Urban Shells. I just adapted it forge length and width I needed. I'm sure I have a picture. I'll look and post it.

Loving the crochet project it's making me miss my mum! She was working on sock and kids hats. She had done some of the cabbage patch kids hair ones. For my neices. When i was there in sept (the last time I saw here) we were matching colors for her other projects! jennyap that swirl is amazing!! Do any of you dye your own yarn? My mom had also started doing the weaving and spinning. She was part of a big spinning group.

I finally finished this afghan that I started in July. It's 55" x 65", so smaller than a twin. I wanted to make it a twin sized, but the receipient's 6th birthday party was this past Saturday, so I stopped before getting to twin size. She loved it anyways! I used Favorite Stripes yarn for the last row, but the color changes weren't as frequent as I thought they would be so it wasn't very noticeable. But by the time I realized I didn't like, I was too far in to take it all apart, so I left it. I don't think she noticed. And here is the lucky recipient! She loved it! She said she couldn't wait to go to sleep with it, and she HATES going to bed! LOL! ETA: Well, I give up. I've been trying to add the last photo and it just isn't working. Not sure why, when the other 2 showed up just fine. Grrr! I'll try later.

@jigglypuff , I really like it. What is the pattern name? Thank you! It's called Beautiful Shells Blanket. It's normally a square afghan, but I found a modification to make it more rectangular. Here is Part 1 tutorial for the original pattern. There is a part 2 as well.
