I thought it was pretty easy. I put two 2x2's together with no help.

Not bad at all! I used a rubber mallet instead of a hammer which lessens the chance of damaging the finish.

Easy for me - I watched DH put my 5 x 5 together. He said it wasn't to bad, but since I got the largest size, it was heavy to manipulate into place.

I put a 5 x 5 together with minimal assistance last week. I do also recommend the rubber mallet.

They aren't difficult, just make sure you have enough room to maneuver it.
